Has JM taken an "official" visit to any school?  Maybe I'm being hopeful but if he hasn't taken an official visit anywhere (Baylor, ISU, etc) then he takes an unofficial visit to MU and decides he's ready to make a decision wouldn't that put us in a good position to land him?  I don't know, I thought that would be the case initially but after reading other's comments I'm loosing my good feeling.  Maybe he heard something specific while on campus and that helped him confirm his decision to go elsewhere or maybe it confirmed what he wanted to do which is stay in WI and play BE basketball...

I wouldn't go that far.  Remember, he was ready to commit to Baylor last year, but his dad made him wait.  If you take a look at the Baylor message boards, they seem to have information that he's going there.  His brother has changed the prep school he was planning on to a different one in Texas, and one of the other prep insiders in the state said that it is down to Baylor or Iowa State.

In short, the signs point to him not coming to MU.

Just to be clear... isn't his brother a senior... and isn't prep school usually 1 year?

Sooo... while Jerrone is playing is still playing in Madison, the other will be in prep school.

And when Jeronne finally heads to school (wherever that is) his brother will be done with prep and onto a school of his choosing.

Right?

He hasn't taken any officials, but I don't know what the regulations are on when he could begin taking them.  He already visited Baylor last year, and I believe took an unofficial to ISU as well.

Right, my math was off on that one.

no worries... my grammar was bad (typing too quickly)... and I just wanted to make sure I understood the actual situation.

You still could be right about the texas connection... I'm just saying it's not like they will be living across town from each other.

Guys---The recruiting world has changed and so has sports. Lets be positive on these boards when discussing kids or families. If you want to bash a high school kid or their family wait until he is lost.

Again, Maymon's if you are reading MUScoop, you are welcomed with open arms. I love a Dad that supports his son. Baylor or Iowa State is for lesser players. The BE is where the kid belongs. Being part of Buzz's first class will be something to remember.

LOL, you act like reading chat boards will sway his decision in any way.  Wow.

I think it will be Baylor because he can play all 40 minutes there and not have the pressure of playing close to home. MU can't and shouldn't promise him a starting spot because his father wants one.

eso---Ever have a child of your recruited? If you think kids/parents do not read chat boards you are out of your mind. I do not think they are major factors, but bashing a kid or parent that our coach wants hardly seems to be helpful.

Let the coach and school determine the type of person(s) they want in the program.

Sure, every now and then you see the overinvolved parent, but the rule, especially for this generation, is the absent parent, especially the absent father.  I wish him luck, but I would add that that's something his peers probably need more than he does.  A young man is defined less by where he goes to college than by the influence of a dad who's involved in his life.

As far as I'm concerned, I think it's refreshing that a father is involved in his kid's life to that extent.  There are plenty of basketball high school prospects that don't have a father even around.  There's obviously a line that cannot be crossed, but he's just looking out for his son as any good father should.

His Dad is the reason UW backed off!

Along with a grade and character questions. Good luck Buzz.
