Juan Anderson's Mixtape

The final three episodes were both a suitable epilogue to the Andor series, and a suitable prologue to Rogue One.  It serves as a nice bridge.

It would have been great to flesh out some of these storylines a bit more, and I feel that they would have been in the original 5 season plan.

But alas, real world time constraints made it impossible.  But I'll be forever grateful for the two seasons we got. And each rewatch will bring an even deeper appreciation.

Quote from: K1 Lover on May 12, 2025, 04:44:46 PMHoly sh*t. First time I've ever actually looked at Superbar, and I did not at all expect to see a Star Wars thread in here, let alone an Andor discussion.

Andor is easily my single favorite thing that's ever been shown on a TV screen, be it movie or show. I'm a huge nerd about it. And other than MUBB, it's the only other thing that's ever motivated me to join an online discussion thread - so it's funny to discover this overlap.

The final block of episodes premieres tomorrow. I'm hyped to say the least, but also dreading the fact that there will probably never be anything else in the Star Wars universe that ever peaks what we've gotten in these two seasons. So yeah I'm trying to savor this moment right now -- the last time we'll ever have unreleased Andor content to look forward to. And most likely the final day any of us can say we have no idea how Luthen dies.

Welcome to the Rebellion.

Andor was such good TV, and the arc was very satisfying.

I've only seen Rogue One once, but I plan to watch it again in the next couple of days. I remember really liking Rogue One, but I'm sure I'll appreciate it more having just watched these most recent Andor episodes.

It was masterful television. Star Wars does so well when they have a confined timeline with clear beginnings and ends, and they have to be creative within those confines. Give them a blank sheet of paper and you get the new trilogy.

I was thinking about how they consolidated down to two seasons. While I would have loved more, this created a sense of chaos, of urgency, and the knowledge that these characters were so important to the events unfolding, but they were still just blips in a massive chain reaction.

My only gripe is the one person that left the rebellion. Could have done without that character leaving seemingly heroically, only to open a dental clinic.

Maybe if Luke played Yoda in pickleball, it would be less geeky.

I did end up watching Rogue One last night. As I said, I liked it when I saw it in the theater in 2016, but I enjoyed it so much more having the perspective of really knowing who Cassian and the others from "Andor" are.

Totally! I absolutely loved K-2SO. Of course, he benefited from the writers giving him practically every moment of levity in the last few episodes of Andor.

Just saw this good line on the interwebs:

Imagine fighting the Empire every day for a decade, then seeing Han Solo get a medal three minutes after signing up.

They got him in the portal.

Rogue One certainly hits differently after watching Andor.
