Very curious what happened here. Seemed to be moving pretty constantly toward a commitment for the past week-plus, then fell apart at the last minute. Definitely wrong on this one, thought he'd be committing within the week.

Could just be sour grapes by me, but based on the wording of Steele's tweet ("unlikely to be an mubb target") it seems MU may have pulled the plug on it.

A social media born rumor gets momentum only to turn out wildly wrong.  Just shocking.

I have a feeling that's not what happened here.

Good for Ulm's GM finally offering the 20 year old a real contract.

Perhaps this is the story? The owner/GM made a move to retain the player or/and Maxi was using a potential stateside move as leverage?

Either way, Maxi is a BUM. #mubb so much better without him.

No doubt Shaka cooled on him.

Conversion rate of dollars to Euros didn't work.

It seemed odd to me.   I couldn't see the fit.  Couldn't picture him coming to MU to sit.  Couldn't picture how this would fit into Shaka's culture.  I could see it if he was willing to come off the bench this season and take a guard spot next season.  I could also see him declaring for the NBA after a season of US college basketball.

Ah, well.  Fun off-season non-story.

Assuming this is who Shaka referenced on the Thanasis pod.

Was thinking the same thing.
