In 1977 Al had his most regular season losses in his final 10 years at Marquette. So a big time regular season regression. Hoping for something similar this year.

Assuming the team continues to mostly hold serve at home and beats DePaul/Georgetown on the road, this team is not going to even sniff bubble watch with its resume.  They'll be firmly in.

Sure, but the next two games will tell us whether they are capable of "holding serve" at home.if they only "mostly" hold serve they'll be flirting with a .500 conference record and that wouldn't be a lock going into the final weeks.

I am very concerned and disappointed that the team hasn't improved since November and at best any talk of Final Four or a deep NCAA run seems like an unrealistic pipe dream.

Who do you have as the top of the pack teams?

As I said, maybe UConn with Clingan. If not, then it's a mosh pit of 8 teams with Xavier ready to move in as they get more experience.

Maybe Providence without Hopkins will fall back but if they do that would work to MUs disadvantage because their game at PC is already in L column.

If MU stands above that pack, they should demonstrate it with solid wins over Butler and Villanova at home.

Who do you think MU is clearly better than based on games played after Thanksgiving?

this ...  "I am very concerned and disappointed that the team hasn't improved since November"

and the advertised developments in Mitchell/Joplin/Gold/Ross" have not shown up...
