A few more threes fall in each of these first two games and I think the tone is very different here.

Thought the halfcourt defense looked better last night. Press seemed less fixated on turnovers as much as trying to get them I their offense later. Might be time for Oso to start, or play Lewis at the 5 for some stretches. Kur has been basically unplayable the first two games.

Gotta remember that Kuath played on an outstanding defensive team last year. He didn't need to constantly cover for young guards who can't stay on their man. It's going to take him a while to adjust.

Side note. If you read brew's breakdown on UNH and the amount of experience they bring back... they may not be top tier D1 4-5* players.

But UNH played an 8 man rotation: 0 were freshmen. 2 sophomores. 1 junior and 5 seniors.

MU: 10 man rotation: 4 frosh, 4 sophomores, 2 seniors.

I felt that UNH was not a very talented team but was a well-coached team that patiently sought quality shots and played well together. Their experience -- not just their ages/years but also their time together -- showed.

I liked when the play by play guy mentioned the highlight of Justin's freshman year was his game winning tip in against Wisconsin and Butch remained silent.

To me this was the funniest part of the commentary.

I missed the first minute of the telecast when the PBP guy introduced himself and Butch, so listening to the game I just assumed it was Dakich. A couple times, I thought I heard the PBP guy make references to "Brian" and I didn't know who the hell he was talking about. Wasn't until well into the telecast that I realized he definitely was saying Brian and I looked it up to see it was Butch.

When I said "I looked it up," that's where I looked it up. I had forgotten to check beforehand, and I spend little to no time on the interwebs during games. But it was bugging me so I quickly checked your thread during a time-out.

MU has dropped on KP but on Haslametrics they've jumped up actually, which I'm sure someone here can explain. He's projecting us as 3pt underdogs Monday. 73-70.

We're a top 100 team if you use the current efficiency ratings of our first two games. We're close to a top 50 team if you calculate our 3pt shooting as it currently sits is an anomaly. Even at 32% 3pt shooting percentage, lower than last year, MU would move up 11-12 ken pom spots.

Haslametrics likely integrates more shot quality data, even if its just location based, than most of these efficiency based sites.

1.  Slow starts two straight games.
2.  The half court offense is pick and roll and dribble drive.  I have seen three sets run in two games.  Any open 3 is a good look, regardless of shooter.  Then try and get to the rim.
3.  UNH succeeded in slowing down the game, forcing MU to play a half court game.
4.  Through 2 games, Osa>>>Kur.
5.  It is clear that everyone has the green light from 3.  I think this is the long game.  Get them use to shooting.  Eventually, they will start hitting.
6.  Glad to see EE on the floor.
7.  It pains me, but Butch did a nice job of explaining the freshmen mistakes and process.  He sounds like Dakich without the arrogance.
8.  I am ready to see Greg hitting some catch and shoot 3's.
