Marquette's Theo John plans to pursue professional opportunities and is unlikely to return to school for an additional year of eligibility, per a school spokesman.  Averaged 8 PPG, 5 RPG, and 1.5 BPG in 20-21.

Theo said that at the end of the season, saying he did his 4 years and it was time to start earning some money.

Loved having Theo as part of our program these last four years. He played hard 100% of the time, he often played hurt, he was a leader, and he was a fine representative of our alma mater.

I wish him well.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Thanks for everything Theo. Appreciated everything you brought on and off the court for the past four years.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

I didn't expect Theo back for a fifth year, but I'm really gonna miss him.  Loved having that enforcer on the team.

Theo will definite be missed.  Thank you Theo!

+1...especially when you won't be making NBA money and your playing years are limited.  Unless you can raise your value by playing another year in college it doesn't make much sense to hang around.

5J—-good thing for your wallet you didn't take the bet.

Theo always reminded me more of a Bob Huggins type player except he had the grades.  Solid role player.  Now we can move forward into an era of skilled big men.

Herman Cain

Good luck Theo. Thanks for the hard work.

I can't wait to see the 13-player roster that Shaka puts together that is packed only with highly skilled, 5-star or near-5-star athletes, and absolutely no "solid role players."

Sam Hauser or Dwight Buycks would have been his 12th and 13th men, I guess.

Assuming superstars were all Shaka ever brought to Austin, how did he ever lose a single game, let alone go 0-fer the tourney?

This isn't really aimed at you, MDDG. Quite a few Scoopers seem to think that NBA prospects will populate every spot on every season's roster for the entire time Shaka is at Marquette.

Kind of a rant, 82. Easy.

Good luck, Theo. Kid worked hard, I was especially impressed with his improvement at the foul line this year. He's the only guy we had who could get ejected for glaring. Impressive.

MikeDeanesDarkGlasses isn't wrong. Wojo didn't exactly assemble the best collection of big men and I am very optimistic about Shaka bringing some truly skilled bigs here. Yes I know Henry and Sam would count but not quite the same type of guys. I'm talking like Jarrett Allen and Jaxon Hayes types.

Wait so do you want skilled players, or Jarrett Allen/Jaxson Hayes types? Because those 2 are basically more athletic Theo's.

No they are not. They are better basketball players talent-wise and skills-wise.

But Theo always gave full-on effort. Good luck at his next stop.
