I heard somewhere that he eats weights.

"Theo eats weights" was the new "Markus Howard is only 17."

Theo is a forward,Garcia is a forward, Igadoro is a forward and the big kid coming in is a forward.  Need a center, Otule, Odell Ball somebody, anybody with a rear end

That's all on Wojo too though.  If you're not going to get those guys then you're clearly concentrating on guys that you think fit well into your system.  His problem is there is no real system or at least it's not coming to fruition.  He seems to try and focus on everything and by that is not good at any one thing.  Are we a defensive team? Transition team? Shooting team? High post?  Drive and slash? None of that.  Just a mish mosh of running around and "playing hard"

Is Theo's skill set all that different than Otule's? Maybe by size he's a forward, but he doesn't play like one. He can't really guard in space. His defense is shot blocking. His offense is limited to dunks and baby hooks in the post.

You don't need a traditional center in college basketball.  Theo was incomplete, but largely fine and not the problem on this team.

Long time Nojo here, check my posts, but I do think that I saw growth this year.   I still believe that Wojo needs bench help - an assistant that lives and dies x & o's and fundamentals and gets enough rope to be the man.

As a program manager and recruiter, I'm a GoJo.  His coaching is improving and he's learning.   No, its not fast enough for the fan base, but he might get there.

IF he keeps his guys, I'm good with him in charge and happy to support him in 2021/22 and beyond and watch the growth continue.   If significant transfers pop, I think you need to make a change.  Program can't be successful starting over every year.

We disagree on some of this, but I appreciate you calmly and rationally giving a point of view that is unpopular here on Scoop.

I think Wojo should have been fired after the DePaul loss, and I certainly hope he's let go now. But if he's back in 2021-22, I will continue to support our program as I have for 45 years, and I will root for us to get back to the NCAA tournament and hopefully win some games there.

And yes, if he's back, he would benefit from having a strong, veteran assistant coach.

Good point. If/when he returns, I'd be much more inclined to support him if he retools his staff/approach to the game. It would go a long way with an angry fan base if he admits what he's tried in the past hasn't worked.

Keep doing the same thing and it's going to get ugly next year.

I'm not slighting Theo.  I thought he always gave all he had and is a good rim protector.  Given his growth as a free throw shooter,I have to wonder how big a victim he was to the Marcus Howard syndrome wherein his only function was to rebound and get the ball out to Marcus.  He never really was allowed to develop a game around the rim until this season.  I think much of the same could be said for Cain,Elliot and to an extent everyone one the team whose function was to feed Marcus.

Not cutting on Marcus either but he distorted the team chemistry.  Perhaps he came along to soon in Wojo's coaching career to be  properly handled.  While those teams were awesome to watch, they never were fully integrated.

No wonder they turned it over so often they were feeding some guy named Marcus and there wasn't anybody with that name on the court. During their tenure

Two "ifs". I will add two more. If he has not shown a willingness to do the things you listed in 7 years, why would there be any good reasons to believe that he will this coming year? If adding "a strong, veteran assistant coach" (MU 82) to help him was not his idea, why should we believe that he would accept the advice given?

I think you nailed it in your last sentence. I believe he will keep doing the same thing, and that its going to get ugly.

It might help if he's told that it's his last season unless he does something extraordinary
