And I'm still pissed that Marquette used this asinine grading system.

Me too!

It really hurt schmoozers like me. If I had an 88 or 87, I could almost always get an A. But as soon as the "slash grades" came in, BOOM, it was automatically an A/B. Grrr.

What year did you take Philosophy of Basketball? I took both of Rick's ball classes and I think it was the '81-'82 school year/season.

I took it as a junior the year before, but my future wife probably was in your class. Glad you didn't see her first!

BTW, I'm pretty sure she got an A. Rick always gave favorable treatment to the young ladies!

I also got A's both semesters. Rick knew the folks that knew the game 😀. Seriously, Rick really made those classes fun. Great memories.

I just told my wife about our conversation. She said that all she remembers from the class was that Rick was always talking about which restaurants he had just been to and which ones he wanted to go to. "The man was always talking about food. Not sure how much he talked about coaching." Cracked me up!

Very funny. We did have one whole class about Ricky Olson. That was weekend he was in for his visit. He maybe should have stuck with food conversation that day.
