A detail not discussed previously. By rule, shouldn't Powell's first flagrant been a technical. Was the ball in play or was it a dead ball. If the latter, it should have been a Technical, not flagrant.

I think the 2nd T against Sacar was fair. I don't think the first was.

For what exactly? How does Sacar get a T there but Nelson doesn’t? He was pushed by Nelson, and shoved him back. It’s asinine.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

They called it a live ball flagrant. Ball was being inbounded when it happened. Not sure if MU player had caught ball yet, but not sure if that’s matters for live ball / dead ball.

Yeah, that's the thing, no one can explain with any certainty what Anim did that earned him a ticket out a postseason game.   Screw job.  Didn't deserve to be t'd at all there.

I think both Sacar T's were deserved. If his actions were the only part of the skirmish, maybe he gets away without it, but no way they let that slide in the context.

But I think the explanation for his 2nd T doesn't make sense.

That's what I wasn't sure of. It happened before the ball was inbounded. But it might be considered a live ball as soon as the ball is handed to the playing inbounding.

edit: The internet is my friend. It is live as soon as the ball is handed to the player inbounding.

What did he do to deserve the 2nd tech?

Yah I don’t know the exact rule either. But in any event, the more egregious of the two acts was eventually rewarded, and that’s just wrong. The refs had the ability to make things right when Theo and Sacar got ejected, and they doubled down. And proceeded to even alert Hall that their player wasn’t ejected - which to me seems crazy.

Sacar shoved someone,  the 2nd T was deserved. Now there should have been a T on Nelson  as well.

Honestly,  I think refs try to make sure there are an equal number of technicals on both sides, which is crap. MU has been on the wrong end of that a couple of times this season.

I was texting my dad during the review. At the time I thought Sacar gone, Mamu gone, Powell gone, Nelson tech,  John maybe F1. Thought they should have gotten their two foul shots then we should have gotten two technical shots and the ball.  Was shocked with how the review played out

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.
