The Marquette Women look to bounce back after their first BE loss at St. John's Friday night.  Their game today at 11A central time at Seton Hall will be televised on CBS Sports Network.

Go Marquette!

Time to get another streak going!  Would be good to win out, could maybe handle a loss in BET championship game.

And I think they can only afford a loss in the BET championship game if it's to DePaul.

Hiedeman and Blockton just came in off the bench about 3.5 minutes into the game - Blockton hasn't started since she came back from injury but Hiedeman came off the bench today after a poor game Friday.  Both of them had tough shooting nights Friday so hopefully they have better performances today.

Marquette has scored 99 points and there is still almost 6 minutes left in the game.
Have some patience, FFS.

Well I'd say Hiedeman has bounced back from her 3 point performance at St. John's :).  She has a new career high of 34 points with 5:43 to go in the game.  Marquette is up 99-56.

Haven't been able to watch, but Blockton's line in the box score doesn't look good. Does she still look hobbled, or is Kieger maybe keeping her out because we have the game well in hand?

She picked up two fouls early and sat for awhile.  Then Kieger brought her back in late in the second quarter and she picked up her 3rd foul just before the half.  It's been good to see her score a bit in the second half - need to get her going again.

Davenport has also sat a lot with foul trouble.

MU wins 109-63.  It is the most points in a Women's BE game since conference realignment.

The loss at St. John's will still hurt them in the polls and for seeding in the NCAA Tournament but it was still nice to see them bounce back with a game like this.

Seton Hall was without Shadeen Samuels who had passed Natisha Hiedeman as the top scorer in conference games.  But I don't think her being available would have made that much of a difference for Seton Hall.

Their last two regular season home games come up this weekend - Fri. at 7P versus second place Butler and Sun. at 2P for senior day vs. Xavier.  Get out and support this team - two sellouts would be really awesome to see.

Go Marquette!!!

Girls looked great
Natisha went Markus mode fir a stretch there in the second half.  Only one who could stop her was Kieger when she subbed her out early in the 4th.

Yeah I think as soon as she got the career high, Kieger put her on the bench.  That kind of game will certainly help her candidacy for BE POY.

Very anxious that the Marquette women get at least a 4 seed so that they play their first two rounds of the NCAA tournament at the Al. It was always frustrating in the past that Marquette had to play their initial games in the tournament on someone else's home court. Hopefully not so this year. Prior to the St. John's game, MU was listed as a 2 seed by Fox Sports.

I think they're still well on track to get at least a 4 seed.  ESPN's Charlie Creme had them at a 2 in his bracketology last Monday.  However, I thin k the 2 was a little too high and the NCAA Top 16 announcement on Monday night had them as the top 3 seed - the 3 seemed more realistic.  I think they'll move down a bit after losing at St. John's but should still be a solid 4 at the worst at this point.  Other teams may move down or move up also of course - NC State was just ahead of Marquette in Monday's announcement and have their toughest ACC games in the last part of the season.  And Miami has now pulled off upsets of Notre Dame and Louisville so they'll likely move up.

If there's anything 21- and 22-year-old women love being called by men, it's "girls."

Didn't chick try this argument two years ago? I'm pretty sure it ended with someone posting multiple videos of Kieger herself calling them girls.

It was a conversation on Lady Golden Eagles vs Golden Eagles.

In general it is safer to call someone over 18 "men" or "women" as opposed to "boys" or "girls". Some won't mind, some will.

Well I'm not feeling so confident about this any more :(.  Marquette went from a 2 seed in Charlie Creme's bracket projection last week to a 4 seed this week after the loss at St. John's.  It didn't help them that Oregon State and Miami had big upset wins in the last week too.  But the 4 seed projection leaves me very nervous that they are in position to slip to a 5 especially if they lose any more games.
