No pressure MU... Interesting perspective on the importance of the Buffalo game. Not about matchups but didn't seem worth its own thread.

Nice article.

MU just has to protect the games at home, not like last year with losses to:

Purdue
Georgia
Xavier
Butler
Providence
Villanova

He's not wrong.

I wrote yesterday in a different thread that with Buffalo's win against Syracuse, Friday night became in some ways a no-lose situation.  And, for Marquette itself, I think that is still true--while a win would be huge, a loss will not really hurt us.

But, from the perspective of the conference's reputation, I agree with this article's analysis--it is a must-win.  In non-conference play this year, the BE as a whole has come up short far more often than in years past, and would greatly benefit from us entering conference play as a rock-solid top 15 team and with a win against a(nother) team that will probably stay in the Top 15-20 most of the year, since they will be favored in every game down the stretch.

Article seems a little dramatic, but I nonetheless found it interesting. And I certainly can't dispute it, even if we're months away from knowing what it all means.

We got this!
"It's not how white men fight." - Tucker Carlson

"Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism." - George Washington

"In a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." - George Orwell

Since this elevates us to the resume building win for the rest of the league, has anyone ever rushed the court after beating Marquette?

I don't know if it counts as a rushing, but Dukie V loves to tell the story about how he was dancing on the court after his Detroit team beat Al.  One of our resident old folks could probably provide more details, but since it's after 9, they're probably in bed and you'll have to wait until tomorrow.  Anyone know if Goose or 4ever are still up?

Fascinating thread. We used to lament that we were too small. Now we're worried that we aren't small enough? Or that we're too tall?

We're at home. We're the favorites. And we have the size advantage. Play our game and see how they match up with Sam, Joey, Ed and Theo. Post up, get their 7-man rotation in foul trouble, and spend the night at the line.

Hopefully Wojo had the team practicing free throws all week

They were perfect against ND, including both Sacar and Ed hitting a pair each.

Amen. I see our height as a big advantage here. If we can slow them down and get them out of their normal rhythm, I think we can control the game.

Not a great matchup for us.
Don't want to compare to KSU because they didn't play well. I think Buffalo will play good.

Home court advantage...but we are inconsistent and turn-overs ugh!

Just not a great matchup...don't feel great about it.

If we get this win, this will be a golden season....loss we can live with but dont want that!

I did go bed and Dickie V as usual, danced to his own babble, alone.
