Jockey

This d'bag has lots of competition - but he could be the winner.

MULTIPLE CONFIRMED FATALITIES at Manchester Arena. The last time I listened to Ariana Grande I almost died too.

On this board, or in general?
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

Spotcheck Billy

I thought this was going to be about the best jerk chicken.

That one made me chuckle. This last one, not appropriate.

Babybluejeans

Is David Leavitt someone we should know? Sounds like just a random dude throwing crap into the Twitter crap chamber. And there's FAR worse stuff than that on Twitter.

He's a freelance writer who contributed to sources such as CBS News, I believe. So much for that career.

I understand that it's not uncommon for twitter jokes to miss their mark and it's understandable that it's going to happen from time to time. However, in this case, I have absolutely no idea how this guy could have thought his remarks would have been viewed as anything other than insensitive and abhorrent.

Really? Would you think it appropriate/amusing if someone expressed happiness/relief over the prospect of President Obama dying?

Appropriate yes. Amusing no. I would roll my eyes at it and not agree with it but it is perfectly acceptable. Politicians and celebrities are part of the public sector and as such are fair game for jokes at their expense. Just because not everyone finds a joke funny doesn't mean that the joke shouldn't be made. If that were true, then dad jokes would have been banned long ago!

More importantly, trying to compare a jab about the fictitious death of a high profile politician to a joke made immediately after the actual deaths of 22 innocent victims unnecessarily politicizes a tragedy. The only thing that should matter right now is thoughts and prayers for the victims, their families, and the people trying to help them.

I thought this was going to be a thread about a certain Scooper's masturbatory accomplishments.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.
