I love how that play worked out, but I thought Duane should have just laid it in.

My initial reaction was that either he could have just laid it in or at least drawn a foul. Even 2 years ago, that's exactly what he would have done - and probably what 98% of players would have done 2 years ago.

But having seen it several times now, it looks like a tall defender was in darn good position to block that shot 10 rows into the stands. It would have been a low percentage shot, and probably 50-50 on if he even draws a foul.

Obviously, knowing what we know now - that Sam swished that baby - it was a brilliant decision.

And one thing is indisputable ... it was a hell of a pass. Couldn't have been more accurate despite him going full speed in the opposite direction. Impressive.

I have to, believe that was a fun play to watch in the film room......for Duane and the coaches......especially the coaches....when you have great hustle .....good decision making.....and perfect execution.....just can't ask for anything more from your players then that

It was a great play, and pretty much sealed the game. My favorite play from saturday may have been Luke after the game. Big moment for the big man.

My second, third and fourth  favorite plays were JaJaun hitting those two threes and then when the closed on him he just went around them and laid it in.

My fifth favorite play was Hauser's block on the left block.

Duane is a good passer.  He is the only one who actively works on getting Heldt involved in the offense (besides setting picks).  Numerous times Duane drives, draws the defenders and then shuffles the ball to Heldt for an easy 2.

Luke's backdown to stop a Creighton run was right up there with this play for me.

Yes, that was impressive.  Though he tried again in a subsequent possession and the Creighton guy flopped.

Best parts were Duane's weakside help, Markus looking and picking Du out for the breakout, and the spacing on the break of the shooters.

Yeah - rewatching the play, it's pretty impressive how well Marcus and Katin also positioned themselves.  Any one of those three could have nailed the shot off a well-placed pass.
