LennyMan, puttin' is just findin' the right rhythm. Ain't no big thang. Folks should learn the game from green to tee. 'Cept everyone wants see how far they can smack it.
Helps me to get a tune in my head like "Edelweiss" and stroke it accordingly. Trick is to pick the right song. Ya don't want somethin' like Nelly's "Hot in Here," hey?

you're right.  i'm usually pretty good with the backswing, then i get  to the-let's take off all our clothes part, and i'm taken turf.  not cool replacing the divot on the green all the time.  i'll try your edelweiss one

On shorter putts, focus on having the putter release down the line you want the ball to start on.   If it is a straight putt, have the putter head follow the ball to the hole.

You aint seen nothing yet, we now have Kick Golf.
Yes, we have flags around the course where nut-jobs play with a soccer ball.  They "tee-off", and keep score like regular golf.
Next we will be adding a dirt bike track...it is over for golf.

It is my last bad habit.   And with the firefighter schedule, I can get out for a (pick a weekday) tee time, miss the crowds, get my work out in by walking 18 holes carrying my bag, be done by noon and on to the rest of the day.    It is even more fun now taking my 8 year old with me.    Go to a little pitch-and-putt 15 minutes away, have him walk with me.... nothing finer.

Doesn't sound like a bad habit to me.  It sounds like something you enjoy.

And keep your head/eyes over the ball until after contact and release.  This will prevent the club face from opening, resulting in the dreaded short push put.

Doc, Tower and Sheriff - thanks for the putting tips.

The best tips from Chi Chi.

Uphill putts don't break and makeable butts don't break.

Also, aerated greens don't break.

Played The Bull last week. That's a super nice course, got on for $50.

1-4 holes make it seem like a typical residential development course, then you get to 5 and wow. Great rolling terrain and hole layouts, real fun to play.

I'm glad I brought a dozen crappy Titleists with for that ravine to eat up.

Always room in this thread for an extraordinary golf story.

in last years wisconsin state championship, a 15 year old freshman(alex yost) from hartland arrowhead scored a double eagle on a par 5 with a wedge...YES, with a facking wedge!  can you imagine seeing this kid knock one down the fairway to within wedge distance(153 yards for him), then jar it?  especially if you were a senior.  the hole was 515 yards total.

Not sure what impresses me more, that he could drive it 362 yards or that he can hit a wedge 153.
