Marquette Lights app for Saturday's game

Did they use MU lights for the Georgetown game (I could not make it)?  If so, how did it go?

They did. It was actually way better than I expected. I thought only a few people would open it as there weren't any reminders (that I saw) saying it was happening again. I would say there were around 300-400 people (100 in the student section alone) with the app open during the video. Looked really cool!

Thoughts on Ziconic?

Cool. His trainer, John Shireffs, brings em along very slowly. I know that Zenyatta's first foal, Cozmic One, a colt by Bernardini, has been a disappointment so far. Shireffs still thinks Cz1 is a freak who hasn't figure out the game yet, as his workouts are sparkling. May be a "morning glory", kinda like the golfer who kills it on the practice tee only to shoot 120 on the course.

Ziconic, the colt by Tapit, has only raced once or twice, and he is progressing.The Mosses are great owners, they always do right by the horse, never rush them into tough spots, never pointing to the Derby with an undeveloped 3 yr old. I think Zenyatta didnt even race until she was 4. Now, if only Shireffs/Moss could get me and much of Scoop to temper our MU expectations, since our team is the 8th youngest in D1.

Were it not for ESPN forcing Z's Mike Smith to talk for 5 minutes while he was trying to warm her up, plus all the photographers getting close to her in the paddock, not to mention her horrible break (she did always break poorly, almost by design), she would have beaten BLAME (how's that for a mojo name of the horse to break big Z's streak of 19 wins?)  in the 2010 Breeders Cup Classic. That said, "woulda, coulda, shoulda."  Excuses. She was still, along with Ruffian, the greatest filly ever shod. And she may be bigger in defeat. The fact that she lost right at the wire, in a near photo finish, after how slow her early stride was,  is  a testament to her huge heart.

I am terrible at posting links, but if someone could post her YouTube "Zenyatta montage, all 19 wins" video, that would be cool.

Being "an obnoxious fan" doesn't necessarily mean that someone is passionate and a fan who cheers without making a scene doesn't necessarily make someone unpassionate.
