Oohhhhhhhhh..... so when Benny talks about RPI's irrelevance being off the charts this year, one person believes him, but when Joe Lunardi talks about it - a couple months later, no less - everyone fawns over Joe.

I get it.

I won't believe it til Jerry Palm says it.

0-5 vs RPI top 25

113 RPI

Would be pleasantly surprised as well with a bid
I do think we have to win the Big East tournament to get in. However, if we win four straight to get to 22 wins I think it gets us into consideration and then it matters how the other teams in consideration have fared against the other teams already in the field. I am not sure where LSU stands, but if they could get a bid that is a win for us in the field, UW is in, so that is a win for us in the field. We would need Providence to get a bid and that would be two more wins against the field. Why I am doubtful, I could see a run in the Big East title game resulting in a bid.

If you contraction of "we're" stands for "we were," then yes, you are correct.

That is, until the DePaul and Creighton catastrophes.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Well, this definitely didn't make the Creighton and DePaul losses feel any better.

Knock it off.  We won a couple of close ones we weren't supposed to win, so it all evens out.  We can't expect every lucky break to fall our way.
Have some patience, FFS.

A win Saturday, and a win over Seton Hall, then X at MSG (most likely opponents w/ a win on Saturday), then a loss to Nova in the BET final puts our RPI and SOS at 67/72, per RPI Wizard.

Just sayin'.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Well, lets not get too carried away.  We just beat a team that has only one win in its last 9 games (and that was over a terrible St. Johns team) by one point in a home game.  The odds of us winning at Butler, and on a neutral court against Seton Hall and Xavier are infinitesimal.

I agree, except when you needed every lucky break to get into the tourney.

Oh, I'm definitely a glass half empty kind of guy when it comes to rooting for my sports teams.  OTOH, I don't get bent out of shape when this particular team loses and I am overall quite happy with the way Wojo has been bringing them along.

Also, ESPN'S RPI has had us 4 to 5 spots better all year than LiveRPI.Currently on LiveRPI we are 108, but in ESPN's RPI, which is updated through last night, we are 104.

Now, rightly or wrongly, I tend to trust ESPN more than I trust LiveRPI.com. So it's realistic that in that scenario our RPI could actually be in the 63 range.

I hope I am wrong but we're not dancing this year.

So close but so far......

Here's to an improvement by our team and by Wojo. Especially toward the end of the year. But not this year.

I'm inclined to agree.  I would be disappointed if we don't get picked for the NIT, however.

I'd say we're virtually a lock for the NIT at this point. Don't think a loss @ Butler and versus anyone not named Depaul or SJU knock us out of the NIT.
