Also, Steve Kerr returning to GS sideline.

I'm thinking Luke Walton will have his choice of several jobs this coming offseason.

Maybe LeBron can channel his inner Bill Russell.

Serious question: Are most NBA players coach able? I mean, at the end of the day Lebron is gonna do what he wants to do anyway

Lebron doesn't need a coach, he needs a guy to coach the rest of the team.

Lebron hasn't had a great coach, he's barely had a good coach. Not a Spolstra fan. The other coaches, hot garbage.

MJ and  Kobe had Phil
Duncan has Pop
Magic had Riley
Iverson had Larry
Mailman had Sloan

Lebron needs a coach.

Magic got Riley only after he threw Westhead under the bus, ran over him, backed up, and ran over him again.

Maybe this was LeBron trying to do the same. Time will tell if Lue is the LeBron's Riley.

I kinda doubt it, but we'll see.

Well, me too, given that Riley probably is one of the 5 best coaches in NBA history.

But before Riley was one of the 5 best coaches in NBA history, he was just an unproven assistant and former role player.

Good NBA coaches know to gain the respect of stars and also be tough on them.  Apparently Blatt was too deferential to LBJ, Love and Irving, to the point that Lue had to get on them when Blatt wouldn't.

The best players know this.  MJ and Kobe knew they needed Phil Jackson.  That's why Team USA like Coach K because he does the same thing.

Of the NBA final four coaches from last year ...

only the Atlanta coach has coached all games this season.

McHale (Rockets), Blatt (Cavs) are fired , and Kerr has missed half the season.

Has there ever been an NCAA final four coach who was fired before the end of the next season?

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Bo Ryan?

Tough situation for Blatt. He was hired to come in and work with young players like Wiggins, and then things got flipped around.
To the point about Lebron's coaches, Spol was a fine coach.  He dealt with the overflow of talent and won two titles.

The first question that came to mind when I saw this thread was "who is Dave Blatt?"
