Ahoya
« on: July 25, 2010, 11:02:41 AM »
Noticed one of our posters with Ahoya plates was captured in a photo of the recent floods on the villagespillage.com blog site.  We got 2 feet of water, what an expensive mess, furnace, water heater, washer dryer, personal belongings flood remediation services.

I feel sorry for all the people who can't afford to get things back to normal, they obviously have it much worse than us.

Hint: Perhaps taking a closer look at avitars in this tread is in order.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I would suggest that they concentrate on Jamil Wilson and keep the final four that he will surely bring foremost in their minds to get through these difficult times.

Marquette fan/Flood ravaged homeowner's mind:

1. Warrior vs. Golden Eagle debate
2. DJ Newbill's perceived lesbian agenda & offer rescission
3. Jamil Jamil Jamil
4. Buzz Sweet Tea intake & ramifications on March Madness
5. 2" of water in basement

Time for a plate upgrade :)

I received mine already.  It would make sense if the customized plates took awhile longer to arrive.

After about 3 attempts and 11 rejections to get what I wanted for personalized plates I "settled" for MU1977. But it was nice (and slightly upsetting) to see that many others had the same ideas I had for plate personalization. I will have to say that mu_hilltopper's "AHOYA" is clearly the cream of that crop.

Well that's interesting.  I wonder if he got dibs since he already had the regular plate with the same vanity phrase.  Or will he keep his original Ahoya plates because he couldn't get new MU Ahoya plates?  We have the potential for their to be 2 Ahoya vehicles on the freeway soon.  That may tear asunder the very fabric of reality!

I imagine they do NOT issue duplicate plates depending on the "style" of the plate.

Officer: Did you get the license plate?
Witness: yes.  UWSUX
Officer: Was that the standard plate, or the MU plate style?  Otherwise, we need to hunt down two different guys.

I think you are wrong.  In TN the special edition plates are numbered (mine is 264), I have seen other plates with #264 in different designs.

For example, my plate is supporting a historic district, and I have seen a TN Volunteers fan plate with the same number.

I think conversation might be a bit off...

Officer: Did you get the license plate of the moped?
Witness: Yes, officer. It was DTAYLOR. I saw him walk out with the iPods & cell phones.
Officer: Was that the standard plate, or the UW plate style?  Otherwise, we need to hunt down two different guys.

It looks like my plate number is "00331" or something like that, but the 'official' plate number is "00331MU" which is why the number of characters is limited on special plates.  All plates have the same last 2 characters... but I'm not sure how cops work that all out.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

If only Illinois would add that option. Half the kids who go to MU are from FIB-land anyway.

I saw one in tosa last week. Can't remember what the text was. But the warrior logo was in a yellow circle with a blue border.

Illinois can... same law that allows ND to have IL plates allows MU to have a license plate option in IL.

Problem is, our alumni association and/or advancement department won't get off their ass.  I think I've sent half a dozen emails citing the statute to different departments at MU and the Chicago alumni club over the past year, but no one has even bothered to respond.

The worst part of this is that a portion of the funds raised from license plate fee would go to a scholarship fund to benefit students from IL who attend MU.  And here our admin is too lazy to even send a letter to the SoS to get the ball rolling.
