If he turned down Texas or something similar, maybe.  I'm not gonna applaud a guy for turning down a program with 1 NCAA berth in the last decade (damn you Jean Felix) and is, at best, the 5th best basketball job in its conference.

Can't blame him.  Why trade a job at a place where you are considered a legend to take one that is way more pressure-filled, yet whose team will always be a very distant second respect-wise to football?  He could win the National Championship next year at Bama and the fans would go, "Well, it's only one....look how many Saban's got..."

Yeah, it might be more money, but I know first-hand there is not enough money in the world that makes up for getting up every day to do a job you hate.

I have been following this search a little bit, and it has been a Marshall or Shaka hire or burn sort of search by the fanbase. Have just found that interesting coming from a fan base where 75% openly admit that they could care less about Bama ball. It will be interesting to see who takes over at Alabama now that both are gone.
