I am correct that we will have Depaul in the first round?

If so, I voted for 2

Corrected above ... we play Seton Hall in the first round.

Such a bummer creighton choked.

DePaul then Gtown was a great draw!!

Hoping we can beat SHU to at least get 2 games in
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

I voted 11. 4 in the big east. 7 in the Ncaa with the play in 12 seed game.

muwarrior69

So did we tie for last. Does this mean we finished ninth.

brewcity77

The optimist voted for 3 or more, only because 10 wasn't an option.

GooooMarquette

The optimist in me says 10 or 11, depending on our seed.

The realist says 2.  I'd have said 3 or 4 if we were on the other side of the bracket, because almost anyone in the BE is quite beatable if we play well.  To beat Nova, we'd need more than just to play well; we'd need them to suck.

Done on Wednesday.

Even better - the play-in games are reserved for the last four conference champions (16 seeds), and last four at large teams (~11-12 seeds).  We'll avoid that and ride in as a hot 14 seed.

Blackhat

Semi finals playing zone defense predominately.

2 -- While I don't really want to Face 'nova, I think SHU is playing worse than DePaul at this point in the year, so we have a good chance to beat them.

Dawson Rental

I think we beat a Nova team sickened by food poisoning.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I recently obtained a food service position in the City of New York.

In other words, I'm thinking that that's about our only shot.

I voted lose to Seton Hall because I can't imagine they'll play as horribly, and as stupid as they did when we beat them.  Our guys fought and played a really nice game in that win, but they had so many mental breakdowns that day to help us out.   And they completely handed it to us at the Bradley Center, they dominated that one.

Agreed - must have thrown the game. I mean, win now and we get to play AT NOON vs. Nova - comiing off beating St. John's by 200 points or whatever the final was. Not pretty - but at this stage just happy the guys had a win to close out the season with Derrick Wilson closing out his history in the Bradley Center with four straight free throws made to close it out. Have to say I'd put that ahead of the wild chance of winning four straight in MSG.
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

At least we have a post-season.  We could be Syracuse.

If MU goes on a miraculous run and wins the BE Tourney we won't be in a play in game.  Rules state that 4 play in teams must be at larges.  The four auto-bids in play in games will be small conference schools competing for 16 seeds.  Unless the committee puts MU as a 16 seed, they won't be in a play in game.  That won't happen.

The precedent says MU would be a 14.  Georgia won the SEC Tourney a few years ago after finishing last during the conference season.  That got them a 14 seed.  MU would be looking at a similar situation.

JamilJaeJamailJrJuan

I voted 2. The optimist fan in me thought we could make a legit run with the 10 seed, but the X last second win gave MU the 9. We will in all likelihood get railroaded by a fresh Nova in our 2nd game in 18 hours. That is if MU can even get by Seton Hall, which will be tough.

I am expecting big things from Matt. He is the type of player that is built for tournament settings. This team will go as far as he takes them...but Nova is just too good.

We could NOT be Syracuse because we run a clean program.
Have some patience, FFS.
