I loved the one hint that things might be different:  His reference to "personal shooting schedules."

I sincerely hope that his senor year is his best. He is a fine young man.

Me to. I like him as a person and he deserves to shock everybody. If he can break 1% from beyond the arc this year I'll be thrilled

Lets work on that free throw percentage first.

I agree.  And the good news for Derrick, is that it won't take much for him to have his best season as a senior, as its been pretty limited as far as his production thus far in the program.  Think Derrick will be in a great role this season for him - 10 to 15 minutes a game - providing energy and D off of the bench...and great leadership in practice.  He's a program type guy.

His free throw percentage was pathetic, but it was NOT 7%.

He was a 44% ft shooter last year. He shot 7% from 3pt land, maybe that's where the confusion is coming from.

Not trying to be mean but I honestly don't remember him hitting a 3 in any game last year. I mean he obviously did but it must have been a end of shot clock heave.

He was 1-14 last year and his make was an end of shot clock heave if I remember correctly.

Not sure that "it won't take much for him to have his best season as a senior" is much of a glowing compliment for him. Kind of like saying, his performance thus far has been pretty bad, so he has nowhere to go but up.

Couldn't get a more accurate scouting report.

Just think what he would've been if the game winner against DePaul had counted!
