One thing that disturbed me while reading was that the D-1 schools could totally leave the basketball-only schools behind. That would suck

GLOWING write up of Marquette and Wojo.

I'm very happy I caught the presser. I went from being ambivalent about the hire to very excited and enthusiastic about where things ended up.

Great link.  Much like life, Buzz's tenure was not all positive nor all negative.  Ultimately, it was the right time to split and we should be thankful for everything he did.  And, with that, MU will not have to rebuild and will be stronger as a result of the change.  In the event that Wojo ever goes back to Duke, he'll undoubtedly have brought new levels of success to MU that will continue the proud tradition at MU.  This is the right person at the right time.

The only losers in this equation are the former president and AD, who (presumably) were ousted for being in disagreement with the former coach.

I don't appreciate the article's suggestion that he return to Duke, especially since that was nowhere to be found in his press conference. Typical SI douchebaggery. Did Peter King write it?

Great article which will get wide readership. I thought it was particularly laudatory towards MU.

As an aside, despite Brent getting trashed all over the board (deservedly so), one has to recognize that he did use the significant commitment of Marquette resources to raise the program at least one notch. This article to some extent reflects Brent's growing of the program.

If Crean made the Warriors once again relevant as a national basketball brand, it was Brent who solidified the program by consistently improving the wins/exposure/recruitment ... at least until the 2013-14 season. Hopefully, Wojo has the mojo to lead the Warriors to next step.

Anyway, my god have mercy on Brent's poor soul in Blacknut, Va.

Does that mean the last 2 weeks were "Much Ado About Nothing"?
