1. It would be weird if Shaka took MU job after turning down UCLA last year
2. At worst Parrish sees MU getting Howland.  howland views MU as a premier job and would accept

Both parrish and goodman are placing their own values on Smart. They have no idea what the guy is really thinking. Maybe UCLA wasn't for him, LA is not for everybody. Maybe the guy wants to come home, maybe he likes, warriors or golden eagles, who the hell knows.

Agreed that each scenario is different, but looking at the big picture of NCAA basketball, I have to agree with them that Smart going to Marquette would be weird.

He is an east coast ESPN type offering his own opinion.  That does not mean Shaka shares his opinion.
