I was just gonna rush the court and see if I could get a couple good hooks in before being arrested.

Solid idea

Ah, the Tanya Harding ploy.

Anytime you can successfully mention Tanya Harding in a thread you know its a good one.

I like the idea of high pressure on the PG.

Otherwise, for me, the bigger question is about defensive strategy on Wragge. I absolutely would NEVER leave him open for a 3-pointer. If that means doubling  McDermott with someone else's man or trying to defend McDermott 1-on-1 (or some combination thereof), I'm willing to live with some other guys getting open 3s. If another player goes off from 3-point range, you adjust the strategy on the fly.

We have nobody capable of guarding McBuckets, because he can score in or out. Start Juan on him because he can waste 3 fouls on him in the first 5 minutes. Then let Burton come in and mug him for a while. Then switch around a bit with Jake, Mayo and Jamil taking turns on him. None of these will be able to handle him.

Buzz should tell Burton: You want to play big minutes in this game? Your job is to stop McBuckets, and as long as you are doing that reasonably well, you are my guy." Hell it's worth a try.

I actually think Burton may be our best option on him (Jamil may get too many fouls).  Burton is actually quite a good 1 on 1 defender, he is really bad as a team/help defender.  It would have just had to been emphasized to him that you never leave McBuckets, that he should be in his hip pocket at all times and seriously bother him.  Burton is quick enough that he wouldn't have to ever give any space at all and athletic/strong enough to bother him in the post.

Unless Buzz changes his philosophy of not guarding the three, this game will get ugly in a hurry

+1.  I remember thinking that Burton did a pretty good job when guarding McDermott man to man the first time around (I went back to one of the post game threads and saw a comment of mine to that effect).  We defended them OK but could not get anything going on the offensive end of the court.  That first game was the pinnacle of my personal exasperation with Derrick Wilson.  I think he will look inside tonight more (impossible not to) and Gardner will get more touches in a position to do some damage and we will be in this one to the end.

+1  It's the only thing that matters. If they get 35 attempts again from '3', we lose.

Of course this theory relies upon the faulty premis that Buzz has a philosophy if not guarding the three. Creighton is a team where you do need to pick your poison to some extent. If its me, I will invite McDermot to shoot 3s over me, but he's not getting in the lane. Of course that creates other potential issues, but if they're gonna beat me, its going to be because McDermott is making his 3s or giving it up to other guys, not getting in the lane or to the line.

Cause weve had so much success pressing this year...Just let Derrick do his thing and hopefully its enough to where Dougie doesnt get as many touches as he normally does. I think its all about limiting his touches rather then just hoping to guard him with the ball.

Agree. We need to turn them over and one way is to play them high forcing bad passes, cutting off the passing lanes, hitting the ball from behind when CU brings the ball up, out hustling them, be aggressive and take some chances going for the steal. Do nothing and McDouggie scores, so  take defensive chances necessary to disrupt their game. A little or a lot of Louisville's chaos defense is needed.
