I'm starting to question our fanbase.  We always seem to have an under-appreciated player that is a good, solid, productive player, but we love to hate him for some reason because he isn't good enough for some people.  It seems to be Jamil now, before that it was Vander, before that it was Dominic, before that it was Merritt.  Maybe it's an issue of expectations, maybe it's a post-Wade thing where we expect our stars to be superhuman.  We have a hard time appreciating some players for who they are.

I don't think anyone hates Jamil. Lots of us had hopes he would step up and be the man...that hasn't happened. If anything I think people are disappointed that he hasn't elevated his play, but everyone can recognize he is still a solid contributor.

In today's game, and from my recollection for the first time this season, Jamil drove to the hoop, INTO contact, and made the bucket.  If he can do this 5-6 times per game, under control, for layups and dunks and FT's, then he adds the dimension that makes him a hero, an NBA prospect, and a serious threat to all upcoming opponents - which is the only thing I care about.

He has great smarts, a beautiful shot, excellent shot selection on his jumpers, decent range, and "blow-by" quickness.  He just needs to learn to take contact and use contact.
