This thread angers me. These are kids, who attend a university I love, and for the most part represent it with class. This season has been disappointing, but if you can't handle a loss without coming on an internet message board and anonymously talking sh!t about these kids, perhaps you should seek professional help, and in the meantime, stay off Scoop. We would all be better off.

I have less issue with you ripping a player and more issue with your opinion being ridiculous. My guess is you just like to get a rise out of people, or you're a moron.

He's not even the worst play on THIS team. For this year, I'll take Wilson over Thomas, Dawson, and probably Mayo. His role has been effected by injury Blue leaving early.

I think it's fine if someone has a thoughtful, analytical criticism of Derek or his play. If they have thoughts on how the team could be more efficient or successful, and that includes something to the effect of Derek sitting, etc. that's all well and good.

I actually agree with you that there is a certain level of criticism these kids have to take, that goes along with being a high level D1 athlete. It's going to show up on message boards, TV, social media, etc. They need to have tough skin and I'm sure Derek does.

My issue is that your criticism was not thoughtful or analytical in anyway. I'm sure you know the difference. And I'm not worried about protecting Derek. He will be fine. I'm more concerned by the image of this message board that is being projected when threads like this are started. I apologize for saying you need help. Dricks guy can essentially play help defense without consequence, so we're playing 4 on 5 on offense.  I could dribble it up and pass it off to the wing....needs to develop one of a floater, jump shot, hell even finish at the rim ability.

Sometimes it's best just to ignore on here.  HH32 has his fair share of garbage posts over the years (sorry man).  As for Derrick - clearly not the best starting point guard we have had.  But this season has been the way it is for many more reasons besides the offensive ineptitude of Derrick. 

I don't fault Vander at all, but if he stayed, there would be nothing but praise for Derrick's D off the bench as it was his first two years.  Jake wouldn't be around to get blamed.  Juan wouldn't be around either.  Would we be doing a lot better?  Definitely.  But it is what it is.
