Was that the estimable Karl Hess, striking again?

GGGG

To his defense, calling it quickly has been a point of emphasis the last couple of years.

The real bad call was the charge on Trishe in the second game.  Yet again, a referee does not get that call right.

The held ball was just as bad.  The foul on Burke giving a three point play was terrible.  I though refing was terrible down the stretch in both games.

That held ball pales in comparison to the gifts the refs gave Michigan in the last 10 minutes of that game.   Every call that could possibly go against Syracuse did.    Horrible officiating.     And I didn't have a dog in the fight.    I just hate seeing bad officiating dictate outcomes.

I personally thought the held ball was correct.  I also thought the Triche charge was obvious on the first look but then saw the replay and believe the defender repositioned  once Triche was in the air.

Thank you.  I did have a dog in the fight and it seemed to me that there certainly was a trend in the officiating yesterday.  It is nice to hear that others felt the same way as I did.

I think both games were officiated in a way that a Big East team isn't used to.

And Michigan definitely got the benefit of a couple calls down the stretch.

The back to back calls on MCW were embarrassing.  But I think he doesn't get call number 2 if he doesn't react so strongly about the block.  IMHO

The held ball was not a bad call.  If not that, it should  have been a travel on the WSU guy as he broke away from Hancock.....

+1.

The new conference really needs to address this notion and eliminate it as such.

Charge call on Trishe was worse.  Do refs not understand that a player has to be set BEFORE the offensive player LEAVES THE GROUND.  Too much looking at player's feet...

Yep, refs are too concerned with the arc and miss the rest.

I agree - defensive players sliding into position after the player is in the air seem to be called as charges more than I have ever seen.
