I don't know why some folks feel the need to constantly rag on Crean, but you don't need to always be his defender, either. If we could just let some of this stuff die, Scoop would be a much better place.

As far as TC tweeting to congratulate Buzz and MU, I'm little surprised at this request.  It seems whenever Crean has tweeted in the past here about Marquette, some of you guys have gone ape batshirt crazy in the past.   Now you want him to tweet about MU?  Should Buzz tweet to thank TC for giving him a job at MU?

He was tweeting on the 27th about 6 members of the IU team making All Big Ten academic team.  That matters to folks at some schools.  I didn't see the tweet, but I got it from the IU Alumni association.  It was the most of any conference champion in the country...they're trying to balance academics and success athletically.  I know people will pooh pooh that here, but it is a source of pride for many at IU.  Fire away

Plain and simple, I don't defend him for being a douche.  I acknowledge the great things he did for Marquette and for IU and I find it moronic, immature, etc when people pretend those things didn't happen, or worse use blatant lies or unfactual statements in the process.  There is a difference.

On the tweets, plain and simple, if he were to do what you suggested, some people here would go batshirt crazy because that's what some people here do.  And the cycle continues.  

I also find it ironic when you said only two weeks ago that you were done with TC commentary, yet you couldn't help yourself and went down that path again in this thread...way to control yourself.

Yup, we get it.  Kevin O'Neil....class A douche, yet people "defend" him.  Why?  Because he saved MU from being Loyola.  We have people literally bending themselves over daily for their favorite douche politician.  Why?  Because <fill in blank politician> represents MY INTERESTS.

It's about what they got done, what they accomplished....you guys keep thinking it's defense of his personality, when repeatedly said that isn't the case.

It's taking a non-NIT team to a Final Four in 4 years, bringing D-Wade, Novak, Diener, Matthews, etc to MU.
It's taking a team that had 3 guys flunking out, drug use everywhere to a Big Ten title with 6 guys Big Ten All Academic team

But yes, he's an a$$hole.  Going back to 2006 here I have said that....REPEATEDLY.  I don't know why PRN, Hards, you and others cannot understand the difference.  No one is defending his doucheness....NO ONE.

Gonna see if I can re-hijack this thread back to the original (and perhaps more constructive) point.

I love how next year's recruits have been tweeting during the games--Duane, McKay, JJJ, Dawson all tweeted during/after the games (looks like Burton isn't on twitter).  

Just seems like they are super-pumped about Marquette and have already bought into Buzz and the whole culture.  Really cool to see they're comments mixed in with all of the NBA alums--reinforces the awesome community that MU has generally, and the basketball community specifically.

Crean really doesn't get the whole 140 characters thing, does he? Twitter isn't there so you can write a blog post 140 characters at a time, it's there to get short, concise points across and go on with your day.

Also...I really feel that a lot of the abuse CBB is getting in here is just silly. The guy is an alum of multiple schools and thus cheers for multiple schools. I feel he's been pretty consistent in his support of Buzz at least over the past 2-3 years while also being consistent in his assertion that he didn't want to pass too much judgment, positive or negative, until 5 years was up.

Sometimes teams you like or follow do things you don't like. Chicos I assume cheered for IU before Crean and will do so after Crean. He has stated numerous times in the past he is not a fan of Crean the individual. So why keep berating him about Crean?

Yes...there are times he trolls for responses a bit. But more often people try to call him out to get him to make those types of comments. This is a MU board, and as much as we may have wanted it, we aren't playing Crean. Let's focus on Boeheim and Syracuse.

What?  What does that have to do with anything brought up up to that point in the thread?  The point wasn't that he was a phony for Tweeting about his Academic All Big Ten players, it was that he hasn't tweeted since before the loss.

Thank goodness he has found God since arriving at Indiana.  Such a religious institution, especially compared to Marquette...
