Some great college mascots in this "Top Ten List." I personally like Dartmouth's and Rhode Island School of Design's "Scrotie"

I didnt like the "Gold" move but was a bit disappointed students chose to protest instead of just doing what Stanford, Dartmouth did and taking the mascot into their own hands. Is "Gold" really worse than "Green" or "Cardinal"?

I agree. People got caught up in the outrage. You have to respect what the kids at Dartmouth and Stanford did. In the case of Dartmouth the U Prez acgtually applauded the Beer Keg Mascot.

It's worse in the sense that the decision to go to "Gold" could best be described as "arbitrary."

It was bad enough that we went from "Warriors" to "Golden Showers Eagles."  Now we were going to be a representation of more greed than Dax Shepard in Idiocracy?  I'd rather be the dopey bird than a shiny brick.

I was there during the 'first warrior' era, never saw Willie much.    Seeing the mascot now, I think I get why to some the name 'Warriors' is so intertwined with offensive imagery.    MU shouldn't be proud of that mascot.
