He's day-to-day with a sprained knee.

Hope it turns out to truly be a day to day situation....seems Gardner's knee was described similarly last year and turned out to be a 7 week injury.

Vander has endured enough adversity while at MU from the critics (myself included), he deserves some good breaks...and avoiding serious injury in what looked to be a gruesome fall, hopefully will be the start of him getting some good luck/breaks.
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

It also can't hurt that Vander's knee isn't carrying the same weight as Davante's.

What irks me is that, to my eyes, it looks like he slipped on a wet spot on the floor.  Perspiration or, perhaps condensation? (doubtful, given the court was air conditioned)

Or did I see it wrong?  What did the actual cause of the fall look like to others on the board?

Thanks.
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

MU_Beav

No inside info, but just have a bad feeling - so much of Vander's game is the cut...that will be diminished greatly, even if he comes back quickly.  Hope I'm wrong...

Watching it again today, it appeared his knee slipped on a wet spot, then a USC player fell on it. Looked like a season-ender, especially compared to Otule's injury last season.

Disagree.  Vander's knee bent straight back towards his butt.  That is a natural way for the knee to bed.  It bent harder than normal, so I am not surprised it is hurting, but it did not look like a season ending injury.  Otule, on the other hand, planted and his foot just stuck while his knew buckled side to side, a direction that the knee isn't supposed to naturally move.  Even though it wasn't a crazy amount of bending like Vander's was, you could tell Otule's injury was serious.  Any time someone's foot just sticks when planting it and the rest of the leg/knee/body move it's bad news.  Always ACL in that situation.  Vander's looked like a hyperextension.

Dr. Blackheart

Had crutches while in Maui...had is the key as he handed them to staff to carry. Dude is a tough kid. He was a block behind when hanging in Lahaina but insisting all is good.  Internet Doc's view:  he is about 20% on his knee bend.  Wisconsin game would be a miracle but it is Vand.  Day to day means swelling which was low by all accounts.  FWIW. And not the latest. Also have to say, even though he takes his hits on hear,  traveling Mafia loves this kid for his toughness.  Gamer

I stand corrected.

I agree Dr., the kid is tough as nails. He s a gamer and sure hoping for the best. We need him and I believe he has earned his stripes and deserves a great season for his hard work. Talented and tough is great combo IMO.

Not true, it bent out to his left.  It did look scary.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

But it was evident it bent naturally back, it wasn't twisted or torqued in any way.
But I like to throw handfuls...
