Pitt Beats Wash St for CBI Title
« on: March 31, 2012, 10:32:34 AM »
Winning this title means you're the 101 best team in the land (68 in the big dance and 32 in the NIT).

If we won this, would we hang a banner?  Will Pitt hang a banner?

The most important thing is that it keeps their 20 win season streak going.

More importantly, I hope that the ACC enjoys them early and often.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Damn! I had $200K on Washington State! I've been placing big bets on the CBI title game for decades now.

As soon as Ashton Gibbs went down, WSU didn't have a chance. When he's playing a role in an offense with other better players around him, like he was with Wanamaker, Brown, and McGhee last year, Gibbs is really good. When he is clearly "the man" on his team, he is the worst player in the Big East. Absolute worst. God awful, black hole, shoots too much, shooting percentage sucks, greedy, useless, awful leader, piece of crap, horrible, horrible, horrible player.

Pitt would have been a much, much, much better team if he had never withdrawn his name from the NBA draft. Worst thing that ever happened to their team was Ashton Gibbs deciding to come back for his senior season.

Then you would have known it's a title series, not game.  Sponsored by Hydrox cookies and RC Cola.

No it doesn't.  No different than the NIT champion means you are the 69th best team.  We all know there are NIT teams better than some NCAA teams because of the conference tournament champions and the crap leagues that get teams in through the auto bid.

Dixon got his team a number of extra games to play and work on things for next season.  They have a top 10 kid coming in next year and should be much better than this season.  Good for them.  No banner.
