I'm really surprised by how many on this board don't have a problem with the dance last night.  Even Buzz admitted it was a stupid move.

I'm a big fan of Buzz. He holds his players to a certain standard that reflects well on the program.  He needs to hold himself to the same standards.

That being said, it was only one issue.  It's over, move on, and keep winning.

OK ... and doesn't just about everybody here think Vitale was/is a clown?

West Virginia fans wanted a humble winner.  Buzz was to pumped to notice their wishes.  After realizing he was not complying with their wishes he apologized.  West Virginia is history.  Move on, more important things out there.

I am 99.9% sure this thread was meant to be fun and poking a little at the response to Buzz's dance but it seems like most others don't think so.

If they're going to "punish" him, I say he has to dance with each of the senior's moms on senior day.

This was classic Buzz, and that's the problem. He's spontaneous, genuine and in-the-moment. We saw it a couple years ago against Louisville. We know that this is who Buzz is and that he would never do anything intentionally disrespectful. But the nation doesn't know that, and we've seen too many players and coaches that aren't like him.

It should be noted, however, that I'm happy this happened against WVU and their scuzzy fans.

This pretty much sums up how I feel.  I think Buzz danced purely out of joy and meant no disrespect and immediately apologized for doing it once he realized his mistake.  But it certainly would have been better if he didn't do it in the first place.

A thought came to my mind.  MU beat WVU after 10:00 pm (CT) on a Friday Night.  Under normal circumstances, it might get a mention at halftime of the Saturday televised games.  Then again, it might just be forgotten.  With Buzz's dance, it was not only mentioned, but discussed during every game yesterday.  Not just the dance, but positive comments about MU and how MU is playing, etc.  Would MU have gotten all that publicity and discussion yesterday sans the dance?  I don't believe they would have.

I think the publicity would have been more about suspending the players.  I heard the play-by-play guy during the St Johns-ND game wondering why Buzz only suspended the players for half a game, without having any clue as to why they were suspended.

Possibly, we will never know.  With Buzz's dance, it mentioned the dance, game and suspensions.  Plus, some added video.  As I stated, it was mentioned during every game yesterday.  With just the suspensions, I am not so sure it gets mentioned and discussed during every game.  Just my opinion.

I think we're kidding ourselves if we don't grasp why the guys were only suspended for a half. It was noble to suspend them for a half when there were that many - many coaches wouldn't have done it at all. But I believe the only reason it was a half was the numbers game - you simple cannot play with 5 guys the entire game.

+1.  In fact I wondered at the start of the game if he was going to suspend the same 4 guys for half a game in our next game, too, in order to complete the full game suspension.  Thinking about it now, though, if he was going to do that, he probably would've suspended 2 guys for WVU and 2 for Cincy.

Good grief, who cares. Buzz was elated after a great win under tough circumstances. Grow up.

Um, he was saying that "punishing" Buzz could be something fun.

The worst thing about this incident is now I can't get that stupid song out of my head.   " Take me home, country roads ..."

I think I'm gonna puke.

You say that as if it's a bad thing.

I mean, sure, it's no "Leaving on a Jet Plane," but still.
