Wonder if Blaney get's fined for the last comment.

All I hope is that when Calhoun retires, UCONN hires Blaney as his replacement.

Awww, it was an "unfair" technical.  Did Blaney even see what Boatwright was doing?  No wonder his team loses its cool.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

When the technical foul was called, there were 15 plus minutes left in the second half. Fair, or not, a good team - a "tuff" team - would have still come back.

The Huskies simply folded their game and went home. They showed no guts, no back-bone, and simply quit in the face of a much more determined team. They looked like Cincinnati last week, which also quit.

The Warriors seem to be the incarnation of the phrase, "were there is a will, there is a way" ... or, to say it in a more vulgar way, "get the f**k out of my way."

My guess is Boatright said a "magic word" or two to get the technical.  Blaney thought it was unfair because uconn uses magic words all the time and did not see what the problem was.

actually, the unfair technical in the game was called on Vander. That was the quickest hanging-on-the-rim T I have ever seen.

I am sure that had more to do with swinging on the rim and batting the miss with his other hand -- while hanging.

He got that because he batted the ball while he was still hanging on the rim.  So, it looked like he was staying on the rim in order to get at the ball which I think he was.  I'm not saying that's why he grabbed the rim in the first place, though....

The ref that called the Ts was the same guy that called 3 at nova

The T against Wayans was legit, as was the one against Boatwright.  Not the one against Buzz, though.  Falling flat on you face is embarrassing enough without having it highlighted with a T.

I don't give a damn what Boatright said, he deserved the T for following Mayo to the Marquette bench for as long as he did.

To me the play that turned the game was the bad call, good for us, on Crowder. The replay clearly showed Jae touched it last, but we have been on the other side of many bad calls all season it was just Karma catching up with us.

PVMagic

On that play, it looked like Jae got shoved in full speed; espn3 crapped out a bit on the replay.

Glad you mentioned that. I thought the same thing. The highlights only showed after where the shove would have taken place.

The ball was off Jae, but only because he was fouled from behind.  The call was actually better than it should have been for UConn.  They lose possession either way, but without a foul the way it was called.

He also made some gesture with his arms.  Looked similar to what he did on that made 3 earlier in the half.  It was dumb.  Crowder did something similar against Louisville and was T'd for it.  Instead of being a coach and addressing his player, Blaney does the opposite.  Quick way to lose control over a team - which it appears he has no control with their actions and body language.

JTBMU7 - last year Calhoun was not there for the MU game - I think he had to go to a funeral in NH. But I think Calhoun was there when JFB made the shot at Gampel the year before.

CTWarrior

For all the talk about the technical, it was just two points.  We called timeout and without the T Crowder's 3 puts us up 7.  Think we would have won anyway.  The timeout itself is what stopped the momentum and I wished Buzz called it a possession or two earlier.  Minor complaint, of course, because the team that was by far the better coached team was wearing gold.

Hobbes:  What's misunderstood about you?
Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

I would have to think that Kevin Ollie is the likely choice.
