Buzz has done his fair share of STUPID things that have warranted Technicals (timeout calls, flailing arms, etc)....He was due for one...and deserved it.

Was it Driscoll that called the T?  I'm pretty sure it was one of the other guys.  Either way, I don't really think he "fell down".  No problem with the call.

It wasn't Driscoll.  It was Breeden (?)... and he didn't deserve it that time.  Other times, he's been over the top, but he literally slipped.  Refs back was to him and saw him on the ground... He assumed Buzz dove.  Joke.

He fell on his butt right after a poor call.  If he would have fallen on purpose after every bad call, he would have been taken off the court due to exhaustion.

Call went against us on the defensive end in the 1st half near the end of a shot clock, Buzz reacted and fell down. He got Td up. He tried explaining that he slipped and fell rather than threw himself down, but that didn't take the T off the board. Later during the broadcast one of the announcers said that a Nova administrator confirmed to them that Buzz slipped rather than threw himself down.

Hope this clarifies.

This probably didn't help.  From the postgame recap:

Throw in the T called against Wayns and it was clear officials were paying attention after they were put on notice this week by John Adams, the national coordinator of men's basketball officiating. He posted a memo stating officials have done a "poor job" dealing with bad sportsmanship "committed by players, substitutes, and bench personnel, including head coaches."

"You should have a very low tolerance for players who use profanity towards officials or who "wave you off" after a call etc.," he wrote. "These types of actions call for technical fouls. Call them! Your coordinators and commissioners will support you."

I guess he should have realized that some officials wouldn't be bright enough to interpret that correctly and would just starting T'ing everyone up.

Exactly. I see Buzz on the ground and expect that it was anything but slipping just because he's done it before and other silly things. If I saw Buzz on the floor and I'm The reff Id probably call it too.

Buried deep in the recap, it mentions a directive to officials to be less tolerant of demonstrative reactions to calls.   Maybe they thought Buzz was demonstratively reacting.

While I understand why he called it, I don't excuse it though.  An official is supposed to witness or hear before making that call.  He only saw, apparently, the end result. 

Now, how many times has a coach fallen to the ground to show their irritation on a call?  Never comes to mind, maybe some one did once, but the only time I recall it was when a coach in the NBA fainted and they waived off the T.

Further, Breedings was horrible all game and quick with the T.  Driscoll is the one official that has a short fuse and is quick with a T, yet he was the one that had to mediate because of the incompetence of his partner.

Buzz was crouched down very close to the ground, turned his weight to the side while still being crouched, lost his balance and rolled over.  Ref who called was not facing him while he did it, looked over his shoulder saw Buzz on the ground, assumed he was being dramatic.  Bad beat.

how did he deserve a technical foul for falling over when he was simply trying to stand up from a crouching position?  it was a bs call, and you could see buzz talking to the refs saying that he simply slipped and fell.

Did Buzz slip or did he have a quickie anxiety attack? Just kidding.

As a guy who does some officiating (though not at this level), I'll just say the refs didn't have their best game today. They called everything for 37 minutes and then ignored some major contact, including Gardner getting absolutely hammered on the play he got hurt.

Thankfully, Gardner's injury doesn't appear to have been serious and nothing the refs did cost us the game. In fact, I'm sure Nova thinks they got screwed ... but when you blow an 18-point lead, you don't have much room for pointing fingers at anybody but yourselves.
