So I noticed in a few threads people wondering about Davante's playing time.

And while I agree that a lot of it was related to foul trouble, he also had some sort of injury in the first half. It looked like he may have jammed his thumb. He had just come back in (after sitting with two fouls) then took the injury and came out at the next whistle - he was only back for about 45 seconds.

When he came out for the second half, the wrist/thumb was taped up on that hand, but you could see him flexing it whenever he was back in the game, especially after his FT misses in the second half.

So - did anyone else notice this/hear about this? Or is it a non-issue? I apologize if it was brought up elsewhere and I missed it.

Yes, he hurt his hand on the rebound. Buzz in post game show was asked about injury and said he did not know if the injury effected him, but Dardner was just plain ineffective in the minutes he got. There was one pass that Gardner failed to handle after he came back in. I felt his injury effected that. However, he got beat badly down the floor by a Vandy bigman and I think that is why Buzz did not play him anymore.

the pass he mis handled was a another garbage pass by cadougan. cadougan sucks!

The pass hit him right in the hands.  At that point its the responsibility of the guy receiving the ball to always be ready for a pass, even if you might not necessarily see how he's going to get it to you at the time.

Agree with Goose on this.  If I remember correctly Junior was very close to DG and threw it too hard to him.  No way for him to handle it.

The pass was similar to the Acker pass at Nova 2 years ago.  poor spacing for a pass to any player

jc chucked it right at dg's head. ridiculous. how that kid is our starting pg, i'll never know.

as bad as blue is, he should be our pg. If i recall correctly, he was pretty good at that position last year.

totally inaccurate.  Pass hit him in the hands, which were waist high.  maybe thrown too hard, but not anywhere near his head.

I have stated in the past (not so eloquently) my disdain for JC's game.  I stated at the UWM Game that I felt Jr regressed.  I don't think he is a D1 player.  He is slow defensively, offensivley he is not a threat.

You do not recall correctly.  If he played point at all, it was only briefly.
