Big East schedule is released

One of the upsides to the Marquette Golden Eagles' Big East Conference schedule -- which was released by the league office today -- is four of their first six games will be played at the Bradley Center, with the opener on Jan. 1 against Villanova.

March 3 versus G'town. (Senior Day) It will be a day game. Admirals play at night at the BC.

Extremely sad that yet again there will not be a  Saturday night home game against a marquee opponent

Maybe MU lobbies for that to happen? Why play a marquee opponent on a weekend when a weekend game will likely draw well no matter what...

You should be happy that 3 Big East games fall on a Saturday. You couldn't say that the past two season.

How much imput does MU have with this schedule or is it almost all up to the BE?  Playing at the same time as the Packers on New Years day might lead to a half empty arena.

Yeah, Im guessing teams' input is taken with a grain of salt. With so many teams playing in NBA arenas, it makes scheduling a bit difficult. Throw in the fact that ESPN also gets a say in scheduling and MU's opinion is prob on the low end of the totem pole. I wonder if we would get more leeway if we had our own arena...?

Giving fans and students until 7 or 8 at night allows for a more hydrated and noticeably louder crowd, really hoping that the Packers have all of their playoff scenarios worked out going into New Years day cause its not going to be an easy decision to have to choose

Admirals play at 5pm that day, that has to be why the game is at noon and not later.  Game is on ESPNU not ESPN/ESPN2 so I would think that TV would have less of an influence there.

I spend $6 for my ticket but would probably spend $25 that day on food and beer at the BC, but I doubt I'll go to the game when I can watch the Packers and MU game next to each other at a bar.

Speaking of that... the game at West Virginia at 9:00 ET on a Friday night.  Giving the Mountaineer fans that much drinking time before a Fri. night game might require them to put a cage around the court like the old days.  That's going to be a rowdy environment.

DePaul tickets actually go on sale? I thought they just handed tickets out with the purchase of a Big Gulp at the nearest 7-11.
