Why would Buzz being at Wade's camp "gnaw at TC"?

Am I missing something?

Yea - you are missing the fact that D-Wade is TC's biggest poker chip.  TC pimps D-Wade as much as he can.  Adorning him in Indiana shorts, releasing the photos, etc.  The fact Buzz had no coaching relationship with Wade whatsoever, yet Wade thinks highly enough of Buzz to bring him to his Fantasy Camp - you don't think that gnaws at TC??

Whether Tom Crean made his petulant, childish and b*tchy comment about Buzz, Painter, Mack, Matta or someone else doesn't matter to me. The fact that he made the statement at all says much more about who TC is than it does about whoever he was going after.

Well, you could be right, but how come there was a Broeker tweet right after that came out saying something to the effect, "Let's schedule a game instead of fighting on twitter"?

Was Crean talking about Xavier, Marquette or another school?  Who knows for sure?  Indiana articles originally said it was about Thad Matta, but then the waking up on third base reference could have been about Buzz as well if Crean didn't think he was given enough credit for MU's appearances in the NCAA when he was in Bloomington.

Here was Crean's tweet on June 29, 2010:
"Frankly some of the assistants we go against I wouldn't let valet my car. They either would lose the keys or drive away with it. In all honesty there are some Head coaches that would be the same way. The ones that wake up on 3rd base and think they hit a triple kill me."

Here is Broeker's tweet on August 11, 2010:
"Instead of negative recruiting our program, call me, lets schedule a game and handle business on the court."

So, 43 days later Broeker strikes back?  The same guy that Crean loves wouldn't pick up the phone to call him to settle a feud?  We need Chicos back as I am not a Crean Wanker, but let's reel it in a bit boys.  You guys obviously don't believe me or the facts, so be it.  But I can tell you one last time:  Crean hates Steele.

Sultan - When you basically rip me for posting an "I think" comment, and then when 2002 turns around and does the same thing, you applaud/agree with his logic - seems odd, that there isn't something personal with regard to your different reaction to the same line of thinking?

It's alright too - we all have some people here we tend to agree with more than others - and some we disagree with more than others.  My only point was at least try to be consistent in your criticism, and not have double standards based on your bias toward the original poster.

But you were right, in that I have no idea what the relationship is like between Buzz and Crean - but my intuition tells me it is not very warm anymore...

I'm not speculating. I'm noticing the lack of evidence. There is a difference.

I know it's fun to think that Buzz hates TC because we all love Buzz and hope TC gets drilled by a bus and burns in hell for eternity.

However, I just haven't seen/heard anything to support that they don't get along.

In my view the absence of any mention of TC by Buzz Williams for the past 2 years is enough evidence that they aren't exactly best of friends.  Furthermore, Crean was on the studio show doing commentary before the MU/Xavier tourney game, and interestingly enough was removed from the set when the discussion got into the analysis of the upcoming matchup between MU and Xavier.

Buzz gave TC lots of props his first year as head coach, however since the summer following that first year (which is when I believe the 3rd base tweet came out), I don't recall Buzz mentioning TC's name 1 time.

Well, Buzz hasn't mentioned Billy G. in a long time, does that mean they aren't friends? I have no idea, and that's my point.

I think you are reading into a bunch of stuff that really isn't there.

Mack inherited a team that had won three straight regular season conference titles, gone to the NCAAs in 8 of the past 9 seasons, and was fresh off consecutive Sweet 16s. He also had one of the best backcourts in the country in Crawford and Holloway.

Painter's first team was hamstrung by injuries to Carl Landry and David Teague, but when they both returned in 2006-07 the pair averaged a combined 34 points and 15 rebounds and led Purdue back to the NCAAs, where they won a first round game only to lose to eventual champion Florida.

You could really argue the case for any of the three.
