You rest your case on what?  That you don't know geography?  Sheboygan is simply not in "northern Wisconsin."  Not a basketball hotbed for sure, but excuse me for pointing out that you can't read a map.

Everything north of the Milwaukee suburbs is Northern Wisconsin.  It has nothing to do with maps, it has more to do with wilderness.  Sheboygan is in the middle of nowhere.

I think Im thinking about Carter-Williams. Didnt he go to St. Andrews?

I went to high school with him before St. Andrews when he went to an all boys high school in RI

I've never seen Sam Dekkar play. Ditto for Steve Taylor. But based on past experience I'd take the #65 ranked player from Chicago's Simeon High School over the #27 ranked from Wisconsin Lutheran (or wherever Dekkar is from).

So you dispute my claim by naming two high major contributors that had cups of coffee in the NBA spanning a time frame of 30 years.........I rest my case.

Ah, didn't his stock rise because of his AAU play in the summer?  I am not completely certain, but I think he played against other AAU Teams outside of Northern Wisconsin, no?  And against that caliber of play, he more than held his own, he shot up the charts.

What was that case again?   ?-(

Buzz would have taken Dekker in an instant if he would have the choice right now and that's nothing against Taylor.  Dekker is very good.

Thanks, dont need a map to know the type of competiton he is going up against.

Never saw Sam Okey, Scott Christopherson, MAder, Robbb Logterman, or the Polar Bear play HS either.

Eevry year there is a great white hope from the hills and dairy farms hills that are not Milwaukee County or Madison that has a big time rating becuase he is scoring 200 points a game.

They fizzle out shortly after reaching college.  Many of them have been highly rated .... Joe Wolf came no where near his ranking.  Diener might be the only one of memory that anywhere near matched his ranking.  Brian Butch anyone?

Dekkar like all the others will most likely be a decent college player as were the others but will no where near meet his over inflated ranking.

Sheboygan is right on Lake Michigan, approximently 50 miles from Bradley Center and Lambeau Field on I-43.

Right.  Middle of nowhere.  It's by Oostburg... lol

Everything north of Cedarburg/Grafton is Northern Wisconsin, and even that is being generous to Grafton.

GGGG

Dekker has received his rankings *not* because of what he has done in high school...but because of what he has done on the AAU circuit.  He plays for the Playground Warriors, which means he is travelling nationally to play in tournaments against some of the top competition in his class.

Not saying he is going to be a superstar...but he isn't going to be "overwhelmed at the high major level."  Hell, if Josh Gasser can succeed as a freshman in the B10, Dekker certainly can.

And Joe Wolf came nowhere near his rankings?  He was a 3 year starter at North Carolina, was an NBA first round pick, and played in the league for 11 seasons...

Did 'the pride of Wausaukee' Anthony Pieper fizzle out?

Regardless, you are flat out wrong about Dekker - you just don't know it yet.
He will be the best player at UW by his sophomore year.

Didn't Anthony Pieper have a pretty good Marquette career?  He played in one of the smaller high schools, scored a ton of poitns and made an impact on a Sweet 16 team as a freshman.

JC gave a nice interview talking about how hard it was to get used to living in a small city (Milwaukee) after spending time in Houston.  I still get a kick out of friends/family that hang their hat on being influential in Milwaukee...

Grew up in the Milwaukee area...now live in the Sheboygan area.  The golfing is better up here, but when I want to go up north it takes four hours.

Certainly hope Bronson Koenig doesn't come down from hickville to play for MU...he's sure to be a bust.
