That's why Buzz's philosophy is to have 3 point guards, 3 centers, and the rest switchables (at least that's the ideal). That in theory gives 7 guys to play the 2-4 positions. Clearly he's not quite there yet, but I think that if he is able to get that balance, we'll really have a nicely formed roster.

As has been discussed so many times here - game changing bigs are few and far between and hard to land.  In today's game - so long as you can have a serviceable big - like a Barro/Otule/Gardner - you can be very competitive.

We never were quite able to see what the Big 3 plus Lazar could have accomplished as seniors due to DJ going down - but many feel that probably would have been an Elite 8 caliber team - even though it was severaly lacking in any real depth behind those 4 players.

If Buzz can get 7 highly skilled 1's and 2's - players that legitimately can pass, dribble and shoot - as it appears TJ Taylor, Todd Mayo, and Juan Anderson all can - combined with some talented switchables 3's and 4's like Crowder, Jamil Wilson, and Erik Williams....

With that kind of depth and talent - MU should be able to compete at an Elite 8 level - with or without the 5-star big that is so hard to land.
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

Bottom line, Buzz has a lot of time to babysit one or two bigs for the next 7 months,
he can work those kids really hard.  he will get someone.

Wannah Bail.

If he doesn't make MU's starting five by his fourth year, he'll already be - by then - a 4x Vitale Best Name 1st Teamer!
Yes, I posted his name several months ago, and we have been after him for a while. he is a 2012 recruit and is from Houston area. Ranked #76 overall and #12 PF. At one time we were also in on 6'10" Prince Ibeh from Texas. #21 rated Center.

Would be great to get both and put them on the all name team.
What happened with Phil Nolan? We need to get one of these guys.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

Hey mrs. Williams, I know your son will be 1000 miles away, but don't worry we'll take good care of him....and if we don't like him we'll cut him next year. The worst take I've read on this board.

I think the likely (and honest) statement would be more like this:

"Hey mrs. Williams, I know your son will be 1000 miles away, but don't worry we'll take good care of him while he's here.

"One thing you and he both need to know up front is that he needs to earn the right to be asked back for his sophomore year.  Frankly, not every player I recruit earns that invitation.

"But I promise that I'll give your son the same exact opportunity that every other player on team has."
