I disagree with that statement benny... UNC is a much tougher match up for them than we are.

That was not my statement or point at all.  My point was twofold:

1) If they can beat UNC, the road becomes much easier from a psychological standpoint.

2) If your goal is to win one more game, there are other teams that would be a more favorable match-up... if you're goal is to win four more games, UNC is where you want to start.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

This team starts slow against cupcakes.   We started slow agains Syracuse last game.   We played more than 20 games against ranked/tourney teams.     If we start slow, it will have nothing to do with being intimidated by the Tar Heel mystique.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

I don't worry about any of that nonsense.  I worry that UNC has Roy Williams' 'Kansas Break' style basketball.  If we don't get back on defense quickly, we will be out of the game in 10 minutes (just like 2003).  If we don't rebound the ball at both ends of the court, we're screwed.  Being able to do both those things simultaneously is damned near impossible.

Our one real chance will be if we can shoot the three successfully and force them to try and do the same (UNC not a great three-point shooting team).

just my 2 cents

This thread is stupid.

OSU is a better team and should give you more worries than UNC.

Panache: someone who has a dashing confidence of style, or shows a certain flamboyance and courage.

Don't use words of which you don't know the meaning.  I understand this is a message board, but the grammar, spelling, and misuse of words lately is truly atrocious.

By virtue of your two consecutive critical posts on the point, you have earned this responsive note regarding one of your earlier postings, in which you said:

..."Take it with a grain of salt.  Loved my time at Marquette and in Wisconsin, but c'mon "It's Wisconsin, it's Wisconsin." Never quite understood it though, the disregard for Marquette.  UW has a great campus, resources, etc., while Marquette, being a Catholic/Jesuit Institution doesn't have the financial resources of a UW.  Never have seen this kind of animosity toward a school in any other state.  Perhaps it comes from those Wisconsinites that never left the state and have a very parochial (limited) worldview. Who knows......."...

Try to avoid the Sarah Palin pattern, of exposing a lack of good grammar, by beginning sentences with the verb, or lacking the subject, .... it is "I" loved my time...."I" never quite understood (it though,--delete) the disregard  for Marquette..."I" never have seen...

The consistent use of the vernacular "c'mon", fails to impress.

In the context of our texting, sound bite loving world, this abbreviated speech pattern is becoming more acceptable; but, it is not yet accepted as proper grammar.

ALL of us, on this board, err in grammar, spelling, and word usage, ...but he/she who tosses rocks at glass houses, first must better ensure personal compliance, especially as yours is a higher standard..

In the words of Sargeant Hulka, "Lighten up, Francis."
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

I believe Panache would apply as North Carolina has a dashing confidence. And they show Flamboyance and courage.

Did you even read what I wrote?  I'm talking about from a psychological standpoint, not about who is better/easier/more difficult/a good match-up/etc amongst the remaining 1 and 2 seeds MU would likely have to face if its journey continues.

Flip flop UNC and OSU.  Hell, put KU and Duke into a hat with those two, pull out all four in random order, and regardless of the order, the first team you play is going to be the most difficult from a psychological standpoint.

In other words, if you're 5 feet tall, does it really bother you which of the four 10 foot behemoths in front of you is better than the others?  Of course not, but take any one of them down, and you'll feel 10 times better about your chances against the next one, regardless of who it is.
