State Street Warrior

Stumbled across this article a bit ago:  http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/stewart_mandel/03/14/east.regional.primer/index.html?eref=sihp

I bring it up because it has Xavier vs. Marquette as the "juicest matchup (in the east)".  In the short couple sentences that follow MU is referred to as the Warriors.  Is it just me or does SI seem to throw this out a ton?

mugrad2006

They do it a ton.  Winn does, Glockner does it, Davis does it.  They even reference it sometimes in their articles as knowingly doing it.

Agreed, just wasn't sure if they actually did or if I was imagining things.

Danged straight!   ;D
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

And he also referred to the Warriors as "pesky."  One of your favorite words.
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

Juicest Matchup: Xavier vs. Marquette

Now is the time to get acquainted with Tu Holloway (20.2 points, 5.5 assists), an All-America caliber point guard who helped the Musketeers to a 15-1 regular-season record in the Atlantic 10. He'll be looking to lift his team to its fourth straight Sweet 16 appearance, but first they face a duel with coach Buzz Williams' pesky Warriors, which like to control the tempo and work for open looks from three-point range. It's a very even matchup.

Let's go WARRIORS

Bilas does it also--he has even talked about it.
They will always be the Warriors.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."
