Big East/SEC series is revamped

Teams from the Big East and the Southeastern Conference will face each other at on-campus sites beginning next season, as the leagues and ESPN revamp the existing SEC/Big East Invitational.

Nice, as long as we stay in the top 12 of the Big East, we should be in line for one more quality non-con opponent each year. I'm hoping they leave the LSU games out of this, because I figure the more quality opponents the better, so let's play LSU and whomever else they line up against us.

why does rosiak mention LSU but not a home game with Vandy?

We'd have the possibility of playing Bruce Pearl and J-May also.  Say no more!

If this is just for the top 12, we could be hurting to get in it next year, unless we kick it in gear when conference play starts.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

Wait, what?  Are you suggesting we're not one of the top 12 teams in the Big East right now?

Technically we are number 12 right now in the Big East standings using overall records.  I do agree with you, we are safely in the top 12 using other criteria and one would assume we will finish well above 12th this season.

Which, while our non-conference schedule could be tougher, really underscores how sad some of the other schedules are.  Take a look at 9-0 Cincy.  Yikes :o

My guess is because it won't be included in the BEast/SEC series. He only mentions the possibility of LSU in 2 years. Vandy is this year and next year, so if they won't include already-scheduled games for next year, that game against Vandy next year would automatically be out. Just my guess, though.

Why does it seem we start most, if not all, of our home and home series with major conference opponents on the road?  I'm sure there are examples of us hosting the first game (Nebraska) but over the last 8-10 years:  Wake, AZ, ND, NC State, Vandy, LSU all have started on the road.  Obviously, it all evens out but just seems odd to me.

THAT would be our Super Bowl.  Much to UW's chagrin.

I'd say we are tied for last place in the Big East at 0-3.

Cupcakes don't count.

Absolutely true....330th ranked schedule for the Bearcats so far.  I'm guessing someone feels on the hotseat over there and is trying to pad the schedule a bit.

I do not think our finish this year will matter much. I fully expect a more experienced and better team next year. They will be looking at putting solid games together for TV. I also expect that the four teams that do not play next year will play the year after. They are screwing us (assuming the game is at MU), if they use the LSU game as one of the games as we already had a home and home scheduled. Basically we would have agreed to play at LSU and did not get the home game in return.

Finally... The current format wasn't much of a battle
