2010-2011 Fanatics Tshirt
« on: November 02, 2010, 11:11:00 AM »

Just got an e-mail with information on Fanatics Tshirt pickup info.  Am I alone in my opinion that the shirt has really regressed over the past two years?  I was a fan of the simple Marquette 6th man shirts from 3-4 years ago... This one looks like one of the cheap t-shirts they give out at some of the games...

The good news is the Direct Supply logo isn't any bigger.  I know this because I can tell from the picture it hasn't wrapped around onto the front yet.

They only pay about 2k a year for that sponsorship.  I say we try and get muscoop.com on the back for next year.  Or my smiling face :)

I'd totally donate to the former.

I too would donate to the cause....

... but isn't MarquetteHoops.com the official forum?!?!?!?!  I reckon a Mr. John Dodds would not stand for that!

i think my favorite, coolest, and simplest MU shirt i ever bought while i was there just said Ring Out Ahoya on the front and had an MU logo on the back. I would even give up the MU logo for a direct supply logo.  I just think those simple, insider TShirts make the best student section uniforms.  This one isn't terrible, but it also is just kind of generic.

addendum: at least there's no chicken hawk.

I gotta be honest I like it.

Much better than last year. "DEFENDER OF THE HOUSE"?

Really? That's the best we came up with? I wear that shirt around Milwaukee and people don't know what the hell it is.

Yep.. I have like 6 of them.  "Maximum Intensity"...  Too bad it took so long to figure out gold was much better than grey.

Today being an election day I vote for a democratic system. Fanatic ticket holders should vote between 2-3 designs. Is that so hard?

They seriously need to have a design contest among MU students.

I'm SURE there are better ideas out there...

That shirt is butt ugly.

I like it.  I think it has a throwback look to it.

But I like 77's idea the best.

The design contest should include former forwards as well

we had grey fanatics tshirts when I was in school.

We had gray ones my freshman year. It had a small blue oval that, I believe said simply, "MARQUETTE ATHLETICS" in it. It didn't even say basketball!

Ah, the good ol' days of Mike Bargen and Bart Miller.

That's because to get that shirt funded and created, we had to pitch it to the administration that it was more than just about basketball but about Marquette athletics.  I know, I was very involved in the first 3 shirts.  A lot of politics back then just to get the Fanatics started.  Baby steps.

By the way, we surveyed about 50 students on the color of the shirt....heather gray was the overwhelming winner.  We wanted gold and the students overwhelmingly said they wouldn't wear it.  LOL.  Times change.
