For Buycks to make an NBA roster it will have to be as a point guard.  He's too small to play a shooting guard position.

that's a pretty ridiculous prediction, a guy who will most likely be our 6th man getting to the NBA? we aren't duke/kansas/kentucky/unc... i think dwight can be a good contributor assuming he makes better decisions with the ball. i'm sure the boot is a minor issue or else we would have heard more by now.

Wasn't Jimmy in a boot around the same time last season too?  Same with DJO?

If I were on the team, I'd wear a whole body cast just to freak out over-enthusiastic members of message boards.

Many times he dribbles without a purpose, which leads to stagnate offense.

Could be a transfer to Indiana?

Haha, he definitely could! Nothing like east-west dribbling.

In another thread there was a discussion on last year's low turnover numbers and how Buzz's coached teams in general have always had a very low turnover rate...

Well, I think one of reasons for that is guys in Buzz's offense dribble with a purpose... You don't see a lot of ball stoppers. I don't think its much of a surprise that Buycks, the team's biggest ball stopper, had the highest turnover rate.

I think Buycks game translates better in that environment. He does a real nice job finishing at the rim, especially for a guy who's not a high flyer.

My issue with Buycks other than his low shooting percentage, is that he's a ball stopper. Many times he dribbles without a purpose, which leads to stagnate offense.

Absolutely 100% dead on Rjax...I think Db has a tremendous amount of skill and ability.  the fact that DB was scoring 40 a game in the pro/am came as no surprise to me that type of format/game is perfect for him.

His issues last year were exactly as you stated ...dribbling without a purpose..stagnating the offense...and poor shoot selection....i would add a little too loose a handle for all his dribbling too.  his handles are not an issue for hs, juco or pro/am or even mid major ball...BE is a wholly different story.  if he can improve going into this year on those areas he can have a very productive year.  I like his chances...the transistion can be difficult and if he addressed his challenges beginning last April i beleive he can over come them.

As afar as Buycks being in aboot...can this board finally stop going into hysterics every time a student says they saw a player in a boot?  standard procedure anymore is for anytime a player even tweaks a foot or ankle to put them in aboot until the pain goes away and rehab the whole time.  OK. Wesley wore a boot almost his entire senior season and managed to do ok.  last i knew he still has his foot.  expect to see every single player on the team in a boot at some point

Buycks will be an important player on this years team.  Though he may have had a marginal year last year, he has A LOT of talent - and by all accounts really improved his jumper over the summer.  Think we need to lay off the Buycks hate.

+1  I saw him at one of the pro am games and he was awesome.  Huge improvement in shots and shot selection, and those who went to most of the pro am games say that he was pretty consistently good.

I'm going to school specializing in the foot and ankle.  A boot is useful for countless minor problems including things such as tendinitis, sprains, etc.  Yes, there is risk of these problems lingering but I wouldn't worry about it.  A boot is probably a good sign because they must want him to remove it for rehabilitation purposes while more serious conditions require immobilization.  Now if anyone sees him with a cast on, that's a different story.

what post in this thread made you think anyone is in 'hysterics'?  One guy says 'anyone know what happened?' rest were all jokes about how it wasn't a big deal, isn't a big deal even if serious, or perdictions that he's going to the NBA.  How do you get 'hysterics' out of that?

Well, that could happen if the NBA gets locked out for 4 years after next year and they have to go with replacement players/NBDL players or something...

Sorry Dwight was not most improved this summer...it was Junior and it was not close. I agree that Dwight was better during the summer, but Junior was lights out.
