Wow - with all of the kind words, I'm a bit choked up.

Nukem – You are correct, Noreen is no longer an option.

CHestonLoins - No matter what board, great to see guys with a handful of posts lifetime taking shots at me. Sorry, but there are a lot of things that don't belong on public message boards when talking about recruits and college athletes - it can have a negative impact.

LIttle MURs - IBW? Cute

Stone Cold - Thanks

CHeston - No, I do not consider myself a "tradional reporter". However, over the past two years I have interviewed more athletes and coaches from a combined mix of high school, college and pros than any other sports journalist in the state. You can throw former athletes into that mix as well. Lack of objectivity? Wow - ok, so you are a Badger fan, no other reason for you to say that. So, working on the assumtion that you are a Badger fan, I assume that lack of objectivity showed through on all of my video interviews from Badger football and basketball media days, Big Ten football & basketball media days as well as my interviews with Bo Ryan, Bret Bielema, Barry Alvarez, Greg Gard, Lisa Stone and Mike Eaves? Or did you never watch those?

Oh, and Crean's departure has had no affect on me, my contacts are stronger than ever. If anything, it has helped in expanding my list of contacts.

TedBaxter - Thanks

MUUWUWM - Thanks

kmwtrucksks - Thanks

Sultan - Correct

Canadian Dimes - You could not be more wrong. AAU events, maybe, I like to spend weekends with my kids. I was working in medical sales at the time and traveled all over the nation with an emphasis on the Midwest. I used to drop in and watch Dominic James' practices while in Richmond, IN meeting with Reed Hospital. Watched the ToC when meeting with the Duke Medical Center. Watched guys like Amo &  Fitzgerald when in Minneapolis, McNeal in Chicago. The list goes on...

I have appeared on local and national TV and radio. My contacts go beyond recruiting analysts, TV hoops analysts, college, high school and AAU coaches. I had a kid down South call me last week out of the blue as he felt bad that we hadn't talked since he committed. There was a kid a year ago in the Southwest part of the country. Called me every week to talk to me about who he was going to see and who had come to see him. I had a kid out East who called me to tell me he was going to commit, even before he called the school, because he wanted me to be the first to know.

So, don't ever give me that crap about being a pretend journalist, a poser and any of the rest of the crap you've spewed about me. You want to take me on? Fine. Put your real name out there and we will compare notes....that is....if you have any notes to compare.

Sorry to the Scoop posters from my brief appearance and rant, before long I will give everyone something to be excited about.

As you can tell, I'm Irritated, I'm a White Boy, and people who rip me while hiding behind fake screen names are my irritation of the day.

Blackhat

Don't sweat some of these "characters".

I've followed IWB since the Rivals.com days...I'll take his word over guys like Loincloth, etc. any and every day.

He's earned that much.

According to IBW on the other board, Marquette did not make a take it or leave it offer to Noreen when he visited as was reported by the Minneapolis Star Tribune on May 9th.

Are you saying that the greatest sports reporter of all time, Sid Hartman, is wrong?

I believe this is what the professionals refer to as a tease!   ;)

Keep up the great work IWB... the long-time Ahoya posters appreciate your insight!

Nah, he's going to tell us J.P. is giving Buzz a verbal. Either that or Crean got canned.

Wow! The ignorance and sense of entitlement in this thread is amazing to me.

IWB does a great job of providing info for the Scout board, to claim otherwise is ignorant.

From following his posts and reaching out to him via PM, I have always received the impression that when IWB does not share some information that some of the above posters feel entitled to, it is for 1 of 3 reasons:

He is protecting a source
He is protecting a recruit
He is protecting the program

Some of the posts in this thread were completely out of line.  How about instead of spewing venom on the message boards because you didn't get your way some time in the past, some of you actually reach out and PM the guy asking why he isn't sharing something specific?  Guess what?  He will probably answer you directly and logically!  Wow, thats dangerous thinking there Paul, you best stick to your work.

For those who love MU Hoops, you should realize that IWB, Mark Miller, and BMA are the best posters around, period.  To claim otherwise is baffling to me...and all the Crean bashing of Dodds and IWB - sigh...same old crap.

IWB - LIttle MURs? Cute   (NO capitol I, no space, no capitol U, no capitol R)

But, hey, why not take my typo as an inspiration, and form the IBIWB?
The International Brotherhood of Irritated White Boys

If you had done this a decade ago; who knows you might have been buried under the concrete foundation of the Al McGuire Center!  Much better than the Meadowlands where Hoffa ended up.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

This correct. The statement should read, "he once ran a webite"

Looks like the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel pulled the plug on his "Sports Bubbler" site

Rest in Peace "Morning Coffee"
The "average fan" is an idiot.

ChicosBailBonds

JG and I have had our disagreements from time to time, but he knows his stuff.  Good family man, well respected and good for MU fans.

Glad to see he has Canadian Dimes nailed to a tee like everyone else does.

BCHoopster

Take away IWB, BMA and John Dodds on his board and you have the Milwaukee Journal.
The Journal does nothing for me, Todd Rosiak is OK on jsonline but in the paper he does
not get enough PT time.  Murf sees it like he sees it, can be brutally honest about a player.
Loves to have arguments which keeps the board going, so everybody can call him an idiot
but really he is very knowledgeable about hoops, not sure why everytime he wants to start
a battle, nothing else to do I guess in retirement.
