1974: Bigs -- Maurice Lucas & Bo Ellis
SF & Guards -- Earl Tatum, Marcus Washington & Lloyd Walton

I'd say pretty good at guard & small forward, but dominant up front.

1977: Bigs -- Bo, Jerome Whitehead and Bernard Toone (by tournament time, Toone was playing regular minutes over Neary)
Guards -- Butch Lee and Jim Boylen

Very strong up front (at least when it counted most) and supreme guard play.

And both teams got contributions from the bench, especially '77. So our own history shows how much you need everything to win really big.

So let me get this straight, if Buzz can recruit a big in every class, and surround that big (considering we'll have a senior every year) with a bunch a good guards, we'll be pretty good by 2012-2013 right?

Ok, well, I'm pretty sure that's his goal.  'nuff said.

I mean, if you have solid players at every position, a few five star guards, a couple five star wings, a few five star bigs, and a rotation that goes 10 or 11 deep, I think we have a chance. Anyone else with me?

:D

Yeah, I'm with you.  But if you have our current team and one average big, I'd say we have a chance. Anyone else with me?  That's all everyone is saying.  I  know, I know, injuries.

Looks like Lucious needs the lusciousness to last because Lucas is likely lost.

Holy Ls, Batman!
