Should be if he applies.  Well within the 30% of regular season games threshold (9 games) for redshirt eligibility since he only played 3 or so games.

Way more to it than just the number of games played.  They also review whether or not the injury sustained was season ending, and by that they mean whether or not the player was medically cleared to come back, not whether or not they actually came back. 

So they will review his files, and look into why he was warming up before games and not playing, to determine if the injury really kept him out for the year.  Only if they believe that it did keep him out will they grant the redshirt.

So why would MU allow him to warm up before games if it effect his redshirt possibilities?  That doesn't seem like a mistake MU would make.

That's what some of us have been saying all along.  It seems MU is going by the idea that he's only cleared for play when he's fully ready to play in an actual game.  The reviewers could decide otherwise.
