Joe was a stud going up against the Louisville trees.  I can only see Joe improving.  May need a three forward lineup to matchup with some teams in the NCAA tourney or say we play Pitt in the BEAST tourney.

DJO earned this award

Mention needs to be made about the quality minutes that the bench contributed. EWill and Fulce being able to eat minutes late in the 1st half so Lazar and Jimmy could sit when they got in foul trouble was incredibly important to our success tonight, especially with Buycks still recovering from his illness. Plus UL only shot 2 foul shots tonight so the bench played some really great defense tonight. Fulce has been playing great lately but tonight was the best. Acker deserves mention tonight as well.

Here we were worrying about Samuels going off for season highs tonight and he was a non factor because of quality defense. No UL player was in double figures and I'm pretty sure Sosa (and others) quit in the 2nd half

I made a joke about Pitino being as reluctant to pull Sosa out of the game as he was to pull out of...  It was poorly timed but the material was there.

I love watching Jerry Smith's body language and depressed look!

I don't think statsheet will have full game stats until tomorrow, but it should be on there.

They're up now.  Our individual +/- are as follows (and disclaimer: I don't think it's worth putting a ton of stock in these, especially for guys that played a lot of minutes):
Cubillan   +20
DJO        +14
Acker      +27
Hayward    +14
Butler      +2
Fulce      +24
EWill      +10
Cadougan    -6

I do feel like pointing out, however, that the worst +/- of the game belongs to one Jerry F'ing Smith at -21.

Fulce is coming around almost exactly the same time that Butler did last year.  I don't think he'll be as good, but man do we need contributions like that down the stretch in the worst way!  I would give SOG to Fulce because when Hayward went out with two, I thought a five point halftime deficit was reasonable.  Turned out to be a ten point lead.  Then when Jimmy went out with three early, I thought the same thing again.  Turned out to be a TWENTY THREE point lead.  Fulce went out, and the 'ville went on an 8-0 run.  His plus-minus this game must be through the roof.  Anyone have that stat?

No complaints about DJO though, it was a toss-up between those two.

I had the exact same thought about the similarity of Fulce's emergence with Butler's last year. Jimmy was huge for us down the stretch, and it carried right on over into this year. A little reliable depth inside should be a huge boost for the team over the remainder of the season. It's great to see that confidence grow game to game.
