New Year's eve and still no word on where he will end up.  If JMay's goal is to sit out only the first semester next year.  Does this mean he has to be enrolled and attending classes at the start of the upcoming semester?  Or, can that slide a week or two as long as he makes grades in the spring semester?  What is the rule and is the clock now starting to tick?

Added ....

UT classes begin Wednesday, Jan 13.

So does he have to be on campus and attending classes by Jan 13 in order to be eligible for the second semester next year?

When do Baylor classes start?

Classes begin Monday, Jan. 11

In order to transfer to Baylor, you must:

   * Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a four-point scale.
   * Be eligible to return to the last college or university previously attended
   * Plan to transfer no later than the end of your sophomore year because the residence requirement for a bachelor's degree at Baylor is 60 semester hours

While we know transferring to a university can be an overwhelming process, we want to help you through that process at Baylor. We also want to make sure you know the requirements for each and every student who hopes to be a Baylor Bear. The information below should help.

   * How to Apply - all you need to know to apply
   * Create your goBAYLOR account - sign up for goBAYLOR to check your application status
   * Admission Checklist - step-by-step instructions for the admission process
   * Am I a Transfer? - find out if you are considered a transfer
   * Transfer Credits - information on course credits & policies
   * Common Transfer Credit Issues - make sure certain courses are transferable to Baylor
   * Documents & Forms - important forms, including a printable Baylor Application
   * Testing - AP, IB, CLEP, & SAT II testing charts
   * Major Academic Plans (MAPs)

Can't find it but seem to recall seeing another thread recently say you were not required to be enrolled during the 1 year out.

Who pays for visits to campuses of a transferring scholarship athlete?
"Give 'Em Hell, Al"

Daniel

If Jeronne wants to play in January 2011 (at the earliest) doesn't he have to enroll now somewhere (by start of second semester)?  Disappointed we did not see a recommit to MU.

GGGG

Do you really think that athletes that transfer to Baylor are subject to the same rules that regular students are?

agreed.  Isn't baylor a top notch academic school?  (no UW, of course, but a good school none the less?)

Who pays for visits to campuses of a transferring scholarship athlete?

If they are official visits, they are paid for by the university.

If they are unofficial visits, they are paid for by the player (family).
