Anyone else going to get A**holed with me and my buddy tommorow? We scored some student tix from some rodent friends.

Will be wearing gold in and among the Gratful Red.

Should be a treat.

Remember not to shower, you'll fit right in.

And make random, completely senseless and counterintuitive rambles about basketball.    That will help you fit in both in the student section and on the badgerboards later.

I'd recommend wearing red shirts or jackets until tip off.

Three of my friends and I are also going to be in the student section, and I was wondering about this. Have you heard of anyone getting kicked out of their student section?

Oh man, this reminds me of a story from the '04-05 when the game was at the BC.  There was a guy standing near me in the student section all decked out in badger red (overalls, hippie tie-dyed shirt, smelled of patchouli) with a cheesehead he had painted red and white.  He was getting plenty of taunting but gave it back pretty strong for so outnumbered.  The lights went down for the player intros, and when they came back on his cheesehead was nowhere to be found.  He started swearing at everyone around him, demanding it backing and getting pretty hostile.  BC security tossed him swiftly.

Still don't know where the cheesehead ended up... ::)

Very close.  This was two years ago, last time we were in the Kohl Hole.  Some of the kids in red were rude and I let a naughty word fly and all of a sudden there were security guards coming up to me... 'hey, if you swear you'll be outta here' the 'guards' said.

I asked one tough 5'8 200 pound guard (Madison grad, I'm sure) if he had heard the entire student section chant 'a$$hole' eight times just two minutes prior.. he said he had.  I asked if he was going to kick the entire student section out, or at least issue a warning for them saying the exact same word I had just said.. 'uhh, that would be impossible'.  I replied, 'OK, then leave me alone' and they did, kinda.. the rowdy kiddies to the sides, front back and above us.. were really keying on us.. especially after certain chants we gave, no doubt, we asked for some of it.. from about 8 minutes into the game until the end, there were 2 to 5 security guards and guardettes within 10 feet of us.

I think* after initially being jags and throwing out stupid threats of throwing us out for swearing, the guards stayed near because they thought a physical brawl was likely.. maybe they thought we'd let loose with naughty language.. but, no... we kept it clean.. the "pub-lic-schoo-ool" chant really got the kids going... at any rate, it was fun and after we won, the state system school children didn't have a word to say... although the look in their eyes said, "yeah, well... I bet UWGB beat Wright State and UW-Whitewater beat Wausau tonight, so there, 2-1, we win."
The portal is NOT closed.

What time do you plan on going into the Kohl, Michaelindz?

Additionally, thanks Jay Bee.

ha I went to the game two years ago and definitely remember the commotion you guys had in student section.  I got a great deal on seats last minute and was sitting in lowers a few sections over... I remember thinking it's probably best that my gf and I weren't in that red scrum.  we'd definitely would have been kicked out at some point... was glad you guys didn't.

tomorrow, I'm going with my dad (also an MU grad) and will be sitting right by the student section. Seats are fourth row up from the floor near the end of MU bench in sec 120... 10 feet or so from the students.  I fully expect us to get taunted at some point and welcome it.   I just hope I can point to the scoreboard at the end.  I'm in from out of town and do have an MU shirt to wear, but not a gold one.  Probably for the best.

Make sure to represent!

i applaud you fine soldiers for the cause.

i support you in spirit and in front of a nice flat screen in LA.

Sitting in the student section requires you to know how to do stupid dances, pay no attention to the game and boast repeatedly how you were the first group to be smart enough to jump up and down to Jump Around.

I am bringing my 11 yr old son to the game today. we will both be in Gold! Can't wait! GO MARQUETTE!

I am leaving Milwaukee at 11, hitting up some bars around noon and will stagger over to the Kohl Hole ometime this afternoon. I doubt I will get there early enough to be close. I will be with 3 Badger backers and us two MU grads.
